History is not being taught and that is on purpose. A country of apathetic under educated citizens are easily led with little resistance. The meaning of words is being redefined to poll tested slogans. The political class is never held responsible for actions and inaccuracies (to be kind).. It is a very tuff to have a rational debate with shifting meanings of words. I thought when the birds go south and come back next year that was Migration.. Now I have no idea what it means when they come and never go back. Just another poll tested phrase for the script readers to pass on to the now un educated.
Tempted to buy a roll for the shelf in the garage tough, because when you print money and rescores are finite, the rescores increase value inversely to the money printed.
As for history - I can assure you they are still teaching it. Most people have simply forgotten (or never bothered to learn) what they were taught. And why would they - you get paid 100x as much for being pretty and popular as you do for being smart.

I share your opinions on wildly printing money, but I couldn't not joke about it
250' have doubled in price every overnight. Used to be $75. Shyt everything at HD and lowes is being marked way up than usual. forget about 2x4 and other wood.
The amount of demand or production might be one of the reasons as well as local stores NONE of them have 14/2 (I guess if you see mostly 15Amp breakers in new houses electrical panels it might explain it without looking inside the walls), 14/2 was $67 now $81 per 250' and I guess those $40-50 per roll make a huge difference in big construction (I'm sure they still have to use 12GA in some lines but will try to minimize them as much as building company can).

The cost increase is due to factories shutting down/slowing production in the beginning of the pandemic, assuming that construction would follow suit. Well, the opposite has happened. Construction has continued at the same or greater volume over the past year. Factories have yet to be able to catch up. Add to the the fact that 3 out of the 4 resin factories for the sheathing have literally been shut down due to hurricanes and then the big freeze in Texas, and it is easy to see how normal supply and demand will force the prices up to these sky-high levels. The same resin goes into many construction products - pvc for pipe, conduit, boxes, etc. All of these items are skyrocketing in price, and plummeting in availability right now. Factories that still producing are forced spread the wealth amongst the whole country in order try and keep people going. Fun times!

Not likely. This will last over a long time. Builder won't stop as long as people are buying houses. They won't drop price unless people stop buying and neither will happen soon

Lately, the material future of copper rise in the same rate as Bitcoin. That's why they adjust the copper wires price overnight, same speed as gasoline price goes up when cruel oil future rises. USD deflated 15% this year, if we print more it will deflate more. Biden limited oil production, so the gasoline price is expected to go up because we are using deflating USD to buy imported oil. Copper goes in the same trend. Material ETF is doing very well thus year.o
