Also, remember to check you local grant and incentive programs. In my area, San Joaquin Valley, CA, any battery powered trimmer over $100 you can submit for a $50 rebate. Worth researching. All kinds of offers for lawn mowers, edgers, chainsaws.. have worked for me! http://valleyair.org/grants/cgym.htm

Great deal if you need a trimmer and blower. I wouldnt mind the kit but really need a gas trimmer for the extra power. Almost pulled the trigger.

Does anyone know if the trimmer attachment is removable for edger, etc? The folding hinge makes it look like it may not be detachable.

No, it is not detachable. The trimmer only functions as a trimmer. You'd have to look at a different model if you want a trimmer that can have the head replaced for edging, pole saw, etc. Good trimmer though.

Just bought a ryobi set of trimmer/hedge trimmer/blower. But I have a set of dewalt impact drill and driver already. I should probably return my ryobi set and grab this right?

I probably would. Much easier to keep the same batteries and chargers on hand.
