Also, remember to check you local grant and incentive programs. In my area, San Joaquin Valley, CA, any battery powered trimmer over $100 you can submit for a $50 rebate. Worth researching. All kinds of offers for lawn mowers, edgers, chainsaws.. have worked for me! http://valleyair.org/grants/cgym.htm

I run my Ryobi + 18v with DeWalt 20v batteries, because my drill, driver, trimmer, sawsall, impact, lights/lamps, and chain saw are DeWalt, but my stapler, sewer auger, lopper (very cool tool, look it up), caulk gun, lock cutter, shears, biscuit cutter, glue gun, tire inflator, and 2 circular saws are Ryobi.

It's an adapter that makes it possible.

The adapter clips into the Ryobi dock, and the DeWalt battery docks with the adapter.

Buy only a professionally made adapter that has the battery/tool protection circuitry ..... DeWalt puts their heat and voltage regulator circuitry in the tool, Ryobi puts that in each battery.

And buy 1 or a pair from a Seller, get it, use it and check it out, and then go back and order more.

I use two to three adapters for tool-intensive jobs, like carpentry or stockade fencing.

Wrongo. The blower is great for most jobs. Not heavy wet leaves and maybe not snow, but for blowing off patio, it is al, you need.

i am in EXACT same situation, bought ryobi, its just not powerful enough, and i underestimated my yard, i need to blow right after i trim and one battery doesnt give me enough time on one battery its only 2.6 im gonna go ahead and take this back and buy the dewalt at least i already have 3 extra compatible batteries which should take me well into the next week and not have to worry about battery and profornance weekly...

I have this trimmer. The battery produces great torque and it works quieter than the gas trimmer I had.
