I wasn't sure if this would dissuade anyone from this deal. From the obitalk website: "As of March 10th, 2021, sign-ups and renewals for OBiEXTRAs are closed to new and existing customers. If you have an active 1-year or 2-year OBiEXTRAs subscription, you will be refunded in-full. For questions, please contact [email protected], be sure to include your OBiTALK Sign-In email and your 9-digit OBi No. for reference."
do you have access to a time machine that can take you 2 hours forward in time? (which is when the sale starts)
Just checked my Amazon order history and we paid $75 for our OBi202 back in May 2013. Best ROI on anything I've ever bought. Using Google Voice for nearly eight years now with no landline phone bills, previously around $40/month or $500/year, means we've saved about $4000 on our $75 investment. Highly recommend this.

I currently have obi200 and want to upgrade to this model obi202, so i could use it for fax. (Please no discussing about how outdated fax, lets stick to the discussion about obi).
My question is about the setup with the new device, do i log in with my existing obitalk and google voice account and that's it? any input would be greatly appreciated.

You may already know that the OBi200 does support fax, but you have to share the voice line on one phone port. I use mine for a rare outgoing fax over GV. You can add another device to your Obitalk account but it will need to go through the usual setup; you can't just copy settings from your first device.

Yeah, It seems like Polycom support is not nearly as good as original OBI support. I am not sure if they care about the product or they just want it to go away. If I had not had my OBI device, I am not sure I would be spending my money on a new device.

Probably the latter. I read the newer generation on obi30x no longer support google voice...
Couple of questions on Obihai device:
1. Can I use my GV number concurrently on Android phone and Obitalk? The advantage of Android phone is that it can receive SMS.
2. Can I use Obitalk GV as an outbound sip trunk for Asterisk or Freeswitch?

1. Yes, you can do this.
2. Yes, I think so. I've never done this myself. Doesn't appear to be for the faint of heart.

If you google for "obihai google voice asterisk sip" you get a ton of results which appear to have people doing this.
