Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
This is a good deal. iRobot also has mop bundles on their site that I haven't seen since December.
We have both the S9+ and the i8+ (Costco's i7). For the most part they are fine, but when my mother brings over her Saint Bernard, you can really tell the difference between the suction power of the two. I had to bring the S9 downstairs because the i8 wasn't cutting it when it came to that dog's hair.
It is hard to justify the s9 over the i8 when both are at full price (unless you have a Saint Bernard). But at this price, I probably would get the s9. I kinda wish I had bought a second one instead of the i8 because of the suction power.
Ugh, I want this. I seriously love robot vacuums, one of the coolest inventions in recent years.
This one is just way too expensive. The Wyze robot vacuum is probably 75% as good as this for $225, it's the best deal on a vacuum right now and does an incredible job with mapping and no-go zones, all that.
The only thing I'll say is that Roomba's have two "rollers" and I'm pretty sure I heard they patented two, which is why all the other brands only have 1, making the roomba better on carpet? I don't know. My Wyze one works well on carpet, but I also have a Roomba and the "lines" from it are slightly stronger/more visible, which I do like. Still, I can't justify paying an extra $500 lol.
I ordered Amazon Acceptable for $674 with 20% off. History shows it was ran for 27 hours, 67 jobs and cleaned about 7100 sqft.
Do you think I should keep it? Feels a lot to me for a returned item.
What did it look like visually? I got one of the same ones after the above user posted about it (I'm going to add 4pts to their reputation for the info after this post) and it just arrived. I haven't yet had a chance to fire it up to check that history log you mentioned (I wasn't even yet aware this was a thing so thanks for bringing it up so I know to check) but mine looks brand new. Bot and base both look like there has been no use at all. I was prepared for some sign us use/wear but so for I'm pretty happy with the appearance. I'm going to put the base in place and place the bot on it to charge up before I run out for the night. My guess is I need to fully charge it before installing the app and setting it up so I can see that history you mentioned. I hope to fire it up maybe when I return yet tonight but most likely tomorrow sometime to see how much use it's had.
I wonder how the warranty works and if it's been registered by the previous user or not and if that will affect my warranty and registration. I asked about that aspect previously but I don't think anyone knew the answer. I was hoping to know before I ordered but I also didn't want to miss out on the deal and figured with a free return option it wasn't much of a risk other than a little bit of my time if the answers to my questions or the condition didn't meet my expectations.

Mine looked brand new. So not sure what Amazon warehouse does but they really cleaned it well.
You have to register the warranty. If the previous owner did not register, then you should be good. I would not keep this without warranty to be honest.

"I had to bring the S9 downstairs" I'm curious what this does to the device's mapping? Is there a way to tell it, "you are in location A,B, or C" or something like that? We live in a 2 story + finished basement + den that's 3 steps down. I've never considered these things because I figured I'd need 4.

In an interesting update, I got mine connected to my network and the app, finally. It was a bit of a struggle and I'm no stranger to networking so I can see why this one may have been returned before ever being used. Or so I thought. I then checked the history and it shows the following:
Number of cleaning jobs: 15
Total Job Time: 9hrs 55min
Dirt event count: 0 events
Automatic empty count: 21 events
Then at the bottom it says "Your cleaning history will appear here" as if there's nothing to display. In the "Total area cleaned" it shows 3,000sq ft.
This is a real head scratcher. Everything and I mean EVERYthing is brand new. I've owned botvacs in the past so I understand what are typical wear parts to check and any and all of those are brand new. I see no indication that there has ever even been a spec of dust anywhere near this device. The rollers, wheels, brushes, sensors, bins (both on the bot and the base) are all shiny and brand new. All of the items included are also still wrapped including the manual, filters, bags etc. I know those can be swapped out relatively easily but even that aside, I don't get how this has logged 15 cleaning events. I think I'll keep it and, assuming I don't have any issues, will likely forget about my initial confusion in time.
In related news, has anyone seen the reviews for this device on the iRobot website? Pretty rough at 3.3 stars with a LOT of 1-star-reviews. Slightly better at 3rd party sites and I realize that many who have beef are going to go straight to the manufacturer if they felt burned by them during the warranty period so take with a grain of salt. Still something to be aware of.
Can one simply empty the bags and reuse them? I read that they snap closed once you remove them to keep the debris contained but I don't see this being a permanent thing. Do people reuse these or do people actually buy a crap load of these things over time and throw them away each time?

The way I read it is that you can name different areas but it's not required. This is more for you to know what the areas are and even use the names to trigger via voice assistant devices. I don't think it's a requirement though as I think that part of the mapping process allows the device to just know where it is w/o the requirement of you having to tell it each time. I haven't yet run mine so I'm just speaking to what I believe I read and as a result I may not be 100% accurate on that info. If I'm wrong I defer to anyone who can speak from first hand experience.

How does the warranty work in this situation?
