This has an actual IR remote (I think it might be the only affordable Android TV) which if you have an older tv that doesn't have HDMI CEC it lets you control everything with one remote.
+The Tivo app you use just lets you quickly flip through Locast and then Sling TV stations like it was a normal cable box.
Never understood the design...
Wouldn't it put stress on the connector or do they just assume that people are gonna figure out how to properly install it to the back of the TV.
Don't buy this if you have YouTube TV. It will freeze all the time. Tivo tech support said they know about the problem and would notify me when they have a fix. It's been 3 months and they haven't contacted me. Junk product and support.

Oh. That's why. I only use mine in hotel rooms and I thought it was just being out of my home area (but assume that's more binary than just randomly freezing). I use other devices at home.

I can confirm this 100% and it's a shame because minus that I MUCH prefer the TiVo or Google's Chromecast. All said and done I use my Roku Stick the most and have the TiVo, Amazon 4K (Update ruined it), new Chromecast and the Roku stick. Unless you're going to sideload the Roku is the best IMO and has the best WiFi range in my usage.

Verizon gave me one of their StreamTV boxes for free and same issue with YouTubeTV. It is basically unwatchable. I had a Roku already and am eyeing the new Apple TV

it's definitely faster than my 4k firesticks, so I may grab one for a spare!

edit: answering my own question. apparently despite being TiVo brand it has no integration with other TiVo products.
