Just my experience with battery mowers. I have just under half an acre and on the first mow of the season (grass was fairly long), I went through 4.5 full charges of a 6ah 40v. Week later it was 2.5 charges. Thought it (greenworks) was a dud so I had it replaced and it was again 2.5 charges to cut a week of growth. So, if you're diligent and you have less than a quarter acre, I bet you could get by with this.

Well, on a quick glance, the Walmart one is smaller (20in) and not self-propelled.

But at the risk of sounding snarky, I think you could have taken the 10 seconds to do what I just did and read the description.

Why is (24V) vs a 40V Ryobi for Less?

Or is this 48V (24V x2)?

This is 2 X 24V . . . So this is less battery than the 40V 2AH + 4AH that is frequently 300~350

Nice deal, I like the greenwork and ego tools, not sure if I would buy this over a Honda though, they are $419

I bought a no-name 58V Senix 15" lawn mower, and it's the best mower I've ever used. I'm convinced now that the most important feature of a lawnmower for a small yard is light weight.

Thats great glad your unit works for your application. I have a medium lawn myself, so idk if battery power makes sense at the moment. I am fully confident when battery technology matures a little more it is 100% going to be the way to go though.

This sounds about right. I have the 19" 40V GMax Greenworks that goes through about 1/4ac of St Aug grass on a 4Ah. On the first go round, it does leave a fair amount of uncut strands, but it does the job fine. I imagine that this 24V system leaves much to be desired with other garden tools.

Yeah....I still feel like these are gadgets and great for someone with a soul patch of grass and not really a full beard. I picked up a Kobalt 40v 19" for $139 and it does great on my side yards that are too narrow to maneuver my riding mower on. My gas push mower obviously has more torque.... I would be curious to see how these motors rate for horsepower. Old push mowers used to have about 3 horsepower with some having 4-5hp. The battery pack on mine seems to fade off it's peak amperage pretty quickly, but still is enough to mow ok. I'm guessing if you have thicker grasses, you may need an 80v system to compensate.

Side question: why are there all these reviews for the corded lawn mower included for this item?
