Currently there is a Front Page deal for M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Brushless String Grass Trimmer + Pole Saw + Hedge Trimmer + Edger Attachments (TOOL ONLY) for $439
I just tried to get HD online to price match the Acme Tool deal and the agent said that Acme Tools is not a valid competitor and they will not price match. How did you go about getting them to match it?
Best thing to do is hang up and call again. It may take awhile but you only need to find 1 agent willing to do the price match for you.
Don't forget the 3ft extension piece - the Pole Saw Kit comes with it, the pole saw attachment by itself does not. The Home Depot kit also does not include it.
Get string trimmer kit ($299), pole saw attachment ($149), and the actual hedge trimmer for $169 (not the attachment). This comes to $617 and qualifies for the $200 off. You'll end up with string trimmer, 8.0, rapid charger, pole saw attachment, and the hedge trimmer for $417.
Basically getting the string trimmer + pole saw combo kit for $299 (like prior Home Depot deal) and the hedge trimmer for $118 which is a nice deal on the hedge trimmer.

True, but the string trimmer head is not part of the promotion. Just adding the hedge trimmer to the pole saw kit (both included in the promotion) won't put you over the $600 threshold and get you the $200 off, only $100 off, killing the deal.
I really need a bush cutter but I just don't want all the hassle for the maintenance of the gas one.
I bought a brush cutter blade and adapter for my GreenWorks 80V string trimmer. it fit perfectly. but somehow when it starts to spin the motor makes a clicking noise and stops like hitting some brake and even kicks the blade backward. I just can't figure out why.
The blade is a little heavier than the trimmer head so I'm guessing the motor can detect the "load" and triggered the shut-off?
I am considering returning the GreenWorks and buy this combo kit.
Has anyone tried to put the brush cutter blade on this string trimmer?
also, if I do that, does 18V give enough power for the blade?

I imagine that balance is the issue for the tool, if it's rated for the blade accessory?
When one says that a blade is a little heavier than the trimmer head, just how little is just a little? (think ceiling fans and how they wobble when out of balance, and that the wobble gets worse at higher speeds)
I would think the blade should be balanced, and using an adapter, maybe perfectly balanced to eliminate any vibration, which would cause some torque issues to the tool.

Yeah the hedge trimmer attachment is the better buy IMO with the Longer pole attachment.
