For anyone who is curious, the 550p is probably the best sub around 200 bucks. It's great for music, it isn't plagued by odd port peaks and chuffing, and it gets the job done until you can afford something better. I ended up with the svs sb2000pro and it adds that 18-30Hz that is missing from the 550p. I encourage anyone looking at subs to find the cea-2010 rating for a sub and find what fits in your budget. Search google for "audio science review sweetchaos subwoofer" and look for his spreadsheet to find what sub will work for you.

This guy... "The 590's have a slightly wider dispersion but lacks depth/body/fullness to the sound." Since we all know (except you) that what you just said is verifiably false and just full of ignorance how can you possibly review a speaker's performance simply by merely listening to them? (You can't) Conclusion: The 590s produce a wall of sound that isn't replicated in this comparison. The 263s are wholly devoid of doing so. They actually sound much harsher/brighter than the 590s.

2nd of all...if you have a small room for your listening...sure...1 sub can be enough.

Let's not sugar coat it that these JBL Studio 5 line of speakers are in the value category (as are the infinity reference line) Thus, there are many vastly superior speakers and subs available for much more money... Value to performance is what you're missing here. Apples to oranges.

Next, my room is treated first then applied mininal room correction software second.

Because my room is treated... two 550p's do wonders for "MY" system. The 590s and 530s both need time to break in. I doubt you had done so.

Do you even sub crawl bro?

Only one tower? Is it supposed to be a center in the rear?

There's two towers listed in the description on the page.
Not sure why they only have one tower pictured though.
I own 3 of the 590s for my LCR setup and they sound great when watching movies.
Have 4 530s still boxed up for surrounds for the new house.
Got them all during the 50% off sales last month.
This is a great price for a 5.1 setup. Not sure about the subwoofer though.

I basically started out with this setup, then upgraded to 6 of the towers, the center, and two different subs after I moved the 530 bookshelves to my PC. They're at home right at ear level in front of your face. Towers are fantastic for music and movies. This combo is basically a hair cheaper than I paid for individual speakers while they were on sale.

I can't speak to the 590s but I was very impressed for the $ with the rc252 and r253s. Sent r253s back as they were too unstable in my space. Picked up a190s and think the r253s were better. That might be a case of my old receiver not driving the A190s so I have the Costco denon on the way to verify.

I have the 590s in the theater room and the infinity R263 in my family room. I compared the two speakers side by side in the theater room. The 263s are very good speakers and they sound great for music. But when the 590s get going they will over power the 263. I adjusted the volume on my denon x4300h receiver to adjust for the sensitivity difference and still the 590s were bigger sounding. However the infinity's were good though.
