I would stay away...New Balance arch support is crap - as a company they are losing market share and for a good reason. They just don't make good shoes anymore. Survey not completely up to date but you can see the trend here:

So what shoes do you recommend???

I walk, don't run.

Got these and have found them extremely comfortable...and my walks involve pretty healthy elevation changes, on asphalt.

I have ultraboost 20s...they're a little too snug for me, but also work well. Skechers have been good too, but they wear out within a month. I tried Hoka shoes...didn't like the fit very well...my gait was odd in them, if that makes sense..

I'm a cheapskate and switched to Asics (GEL-[insert name]) for my daily drivers (5 miles/day,) ASIC quality has been consistent IMHO but I've also had good luck with Nike's (Flex) and my wife uses Air Zooms as a lighter runner (2 mile/day) - you can't go wrong with NIke, just be careful to get the right shoe - they have every single option you can possibly imagine so you may inadvertently get a shoe that is not really designed for your gait. I run Zoots for races but will look at Hokas for next upgrade.

Everyone is clearly different though - these shoes might be perfectly adequate for light/medium running. I need a lot of arch and energy distribution b/c of HIIT and pace I run at which New Balance has failed to deliver on - I never noticed before I got older and REALLY needed that shoe support. I just ran NB b/c my cross country coach recommended them but I've learned from back and knee injuries not to trust their designs anymore...

Great point. These are probably good walking/regular shoes but for running the structural support IMHO is severely lacking for energy return and impact distribution (the 2 are almost the same requirement - channeling the energy to avoid injury.)

Plus one - I ran a pair for 400+ miles, up to 40+ miles a week (with long runs of 15+) and they were still in great shape when I retired them. I run with a Currex medium profile insole, so YMMV for fit / comfort / foot type. I updated to the v11 and it had some fit issues for my foot, so I'll be going back to a pair of these v10s!

got mine today. good shoes but not as comfortable as say a Hoka Bondi 6. The shoes require some break-in walks/runs unlike my other running shoes like Brooks ghost where I can run with them right out of the box. With that said, it is still a very good shoe for the price.
