My wife made our corded hedge trimmer cordless 3 times. This thing seems like it would have even more potential.

Corded mowers have MUCH more power than the battery models. I bought 2 heavy duty battery models and returned both after 20 minutes. Corded is a much better option, but not as powerful as gas. I use a SunJoe MJ403E 13amp and it's been beat up with cutting small branches too and still going strong after 3 years.

I was using corded for 2yrs and finally gave up last year and went battery. I got tired if carrying 100feet of cord around.lol

Just a heads up, it's corded. Still seems like a decent deal though.

Yea corded... that's not the best idea for an item that has fast spinning blades on it.... but hey thats just one man's opinion....

I bought this mower 3 1/2 years ago on closeout at Target for $75 and have been using since then. I've had good luck with it, like it and it still works great. Having said that, I recently bought a Greenworks 21" cordless mower and am waiting for delivery on that. It will be nice not having to worry about dragging the cord around. My Greenworks corded mower will make a nice backup. $99 for this mower is a pretty good price.

I would never go back to a gas powered lawn mower.

Thanks for the info, good to know. I would rather go corded, because the batteries are so expensive.

Corded are more powerful than the battery ones, but the cord trade off isn't worth it IMO.

I used a corded lawnmower for like 1 season many years ago because I got sick of messing with a gas mower... but after dealing with the extension cord for that season I went back to gas for many years until the battery mowers came out.

MAYBE corded ones work ok for a tiny yard... for a yard of any "normal" size they're super annoying IMO . You have to constantly manage the cord, and when the plug gets yanked out of the mower side for the 15th time in one session of mowing because you pulled a little too hard you'll scream in frustration and say "why didn't I just spend the extra $ on a damn battery mower?"

Guess you have never used a cordless 60v or 80v mower. They are very powerful.

I have never used a gas powered, but I got a 80v kobalt when it was on sale around 200$, and I am satisfied. Recently saw many 20v, 40v on sale, not sure what is the difference between those

You'd be surprised. I've have 2 corded mowers in the past 15-16 years and only cut the cord once — in the first month. Once you learn basic cord management (start near the power source and work away from it) the only minor hassle is stepping over the cord and sometimes switching hands.

Gas is too much hassle and cordless are still not quite there. If you have a lot of obstacles like gardens or islands, cordless wins. But corded is very underappreciated, mostly because of the cord-cutting rumors. I have a 100' cord for my front yard and I use every bit of it. If your yard goes beyond 100' from the outlet, you might want a cordless...and a bunch of extra batteries!

You can actually run right over a flat cord, these things would need 10x more suction to even lift it.

FWIW, we've had the 21" model for 3-4 years and it's pretty junky, but does the job. Just be prepared to tighten and fix all the little bits on it. It's not built like a $500 Toro or Honda gas mower.

I have corded too and I think it works quite well, you have to get used to the cord tho for sure. My yard is big enough that I don't think the battery powered ones would do it without 1-2 spares, and I was tired of maintaining the gas mower (and the fuel supply heh) the corded mower with 100' cord can just barely reach everywhere and I can go go go without any stopping. I have to remind myself to take a break and sip my beer hehe

I've been running corded mowers for 10 years now to mow my quarter-acre -- never once have I mowed the cord. The cord can be a bit of a pain around obstacles, but you learn to adapt. The only real pain is when getting to edge, having cord get disconnected.
