this is a solid switch for a great price. I use this to connect a pfSense router with 3 Asus AC68U in AP mode with vlans. Rock solid.

here's a reference implementation https://netosec.com/protect-home-network/

I just bought the PoE+ version of this and I have to say, Netgear has come a long way! If you need a managed switch always use smart managed or better. The windows app they have to access those style switches suck! Good price, thanks OP!

Any thoughts on this switch vs the TPLink TL-SG108E (ref - https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-U...00K4DS5KU/ )

FWIW I'm trying to do 802.1Q VLAN Tagging by MAC address so segment off all my IOT devices so they can't see my "internal" VLAN.

Effectively I want only devices that I bless to be able to see other devices on the network.

Guest access and IOT can get to the internet but that's it.

Looks like the TP-Link has a slight edge.

Doesn't support LAG/LACP.

The TPLINK supports static LAG but not LACP.

I assume any smart managed switch like this has bonding (or whatever you want to call it where I can assign two ports to the same pc)

Not a fan of switches that have the blinking lights on the same side as the ports.

This switch has pretty much never been $49.99 like the regular price suggests. It hasnt been that price since July 2019. Here is the camel3 price link A common price for this is $30-33. https://urlhasbeenblocked/product/B07PLFCQVK

I like the way it was designed I can put it on top the counter but I preferred mounting it on the wall where it could be vertical or horizontal position. Installing it is very easy.
