This filter is pretty good. It will remove chlorine, iron, sulfides (if your well smells of rotten eggs, this will help) and particulates (suspended solids).
What it will NOT do : remove lead, reduce TDS (total dissolved solids)
The KDF media inside this filter is designed to use redox (reduction-oxidation) chemistry to remove or reduce chlorine, hydrogen sulfides, iron and also aid in the removal of some bacteria - although this last point is, to me a little more spurious.
The carbon block in the filter will effectively remove chlorine. If all you want to do is remove chlorine, there are much less expensive ways of doing it - with a 10" filter housing and a carbon filter.
If you want to go all out and remove 95%+ of the dissolved solids in your water supply, then you need RO. The zerowater type filtration systems are just a deionizer resin that strips out all ionic species in water. It doesn't do anything for organics (which are not ionic) or bacteria.
However - here's the disclaimer - if you take out the chlorine in your water supply, you are removing the chemical that is designed to keep your water microbiologically safe. For this reason, certain healthcare facilities (including the VA) have banned carbon filtration on drinks and ice machines to prevent things like legionnaire's disease. If you want to remove chlorine, site the filter as close as possible to the tap from which you want to take the water. Long runs of tubes containing dechlorinated water (like in a fridge supply or ice machine) are paradise for bacteria and without chlorine, they will continue to grow and your water will become unsafe.

looking on their website, they do have some filters that are NSF lead certified. But this one doesn't seem to be.
