Why not buy from Madison Seating?
Appears to be that corrupt Brooklyn storefront that has gone through so many names at this point we lost count. Take notice of any lack of them identifying where to reach them

Where and when did you do this. I live in California and called my local dealer. They were happy to show me the chairs and I got to try them but they offered me worse options. They were not rude or anything, but very honest. They said they have never offered any discount and if I ordered through them, I wouldn't get the 30 day money back return. I would get charged a restocking fee or probably not even be able to return. I was better off order online at the actual herman miller site which they pointed out.
I emailed a few dealers. I'll send you a dm.

Agree with those saying try sitting in the chair at a local place before buying if possible. Everyone talks about how great the Aeron is, but I've tried multiple fully loaded Aerons and hated them. We have them at the office. Also tried the Staples Hyken Mesh as a cheaper option and hated it equally. Both had me shifting all the time.

Herman Miller does make great chairs, though. Ended up going with a Herman Miller Celle chair that I got super cheap secondhand. It's amazing.

Doest it make coffee too. $1200 for chair?
Even though I don't like the Aeron, I wouldn't scoff at the price. People that use this chair for work expect to spend 8+ hours sitting on it non-stop. If it increase the comfort even 10%, that's 10% more comfort for about 2000 hrs a year for 5+ years (these chairs do last for a very long time so I'm being super conservative by estimating 5). That breaks down to 12 cents an hour (or the price of less than one regular coffee a day) for 10% more comfort, and that goes down further if you use the chair for more than 8 hours a day or longer than 5 years. For people who use these chairs a lot that's worth it.

Does the Aeron or any other mesh chair hold up for larger dudes? I'm 6'1 220lbs currently and ~210lbs at minimum. I like mesh chairs but every chair sags within a year or so of regular use despite being way under weight limits (or the cushions get squashed in non mesh chairs). Would really like to get a chair I don't have to replace for at least 5+ years but I'm skeptical that even these will not sag in that timeframe. Dunno if anybody else has found a solution.

I bought an Aeron chair for work in 1995...I've been using it pretty much every day now for over 26 years...I think I paid about $660 all in - I had a friend at Jules Seltzer in LA.

The seat needs to be replaced (about $300), but otherwise it's been maintenance free for a quarter of a century.

One of the best purchases of my life.

You get what you pay for.

As I mentioned earlier in the the thread, I'm close to your measurements and the mesh on the Aeron I had at the office held up for 6 years and was still fine when I left the company. In fact, the thing that broke on the first Aeron I had was the plastic that held the mesh, rather than the mesh itself. However you should find a place to try out the Aeron, as I did not find it comfortable and for my WFH set up I decided to go the switch-the-chair-every-few-years-when-the-cushion-starts-to-suck route with a comfortable cheaper chair from Staples.

Haha. You're right. I love the creative ways these companies try to trick you (on the surface)

Eh, I'm not a huge fan of my leap2, granted it was purchased used, but the padding on the seat is lacking.
I have an Aeron and my wife has a Leap v2; I agree. I do find that the Leap encourages me to use better posture when sitting, though.

We both prefer our chairs to the other, so this is definitely a subjective choice.

People will not have a second thought about spending that much for on a couch they sit in for a hour or to a day and yet are upset if a chair designed to be sat in for 8 hours every day and be comfortable for a decade is the same price. I don't get it.

Not much. I run 3x a week and weight train 2x a week. Like I said, these chairs suck
Yes the single most popular and sought after ergonomic chair "sucks". Seems more likely that maybe its user error and you are the one sucking in this scenario.

If you don't mind I'd like the info too, thanks!
Hi peeps, hard to respond thru this thread. I'll try to respond if you PM me. To answer some questions... I bought my Embody last year so don't know what price the seller will give you now. Also, I had to wait for almost 2 months for chair to arrive maybe due to covid. Was delivered by a big long truck so make sure your street can fit such a truck. My final cost was less than $1k. My chair setup has armrests and upgraded wheels. Am sitting in my chair while typing this. Lol
