A similar Ryobi set is currently $199 at Home Depot. I realize that's about $60 more, but it's well worth it for the better ecosystem. These Ryobi sets often go on sale if you are able to hold out for the next sale.

I bought a Hart chainsaw recently and I can't say enough good things about it. It performs as I had hoped. It doesn't seem like garbage to me but then again I'm not a heavy user and I don't have a different brand to compare to. If these tools are built similarly then I suspect the light to moderate home user will feel they meet their needs.

Hart, a legacy tool name not tied to the original brand (like Craftsman), which is a Ryobi clone with a battery system completely incompatible with others out on the market. Sounds like a good deal if you intend to use these tools as consumables.

I almost went with Makita for the coffee maker alone. Their tools can take a beating, very high quality.

My only issue is that only HD sells them near me. I went with Dewalt XR because they're sold everywhere and you can always find a deal for a tool you need. Really wish Makita would expand a bit.

The biggest problem with all these new tool offbrands is that they purposely makes batteries incompatible which sort of vendor locks in and dies when walmart loses interest in a few years. The larger issue is the track record and generational compatibility. The worst thing you want is them coming out with a new platform and deprecating the old one. If you are going to save a few bucks cut back on starbucks. Even the harbor freight has three different platforms. Europe has it right, makes batteries interchangeable.

I cant figure why anyone would want this, when if you wait until bf the stable consumer platforms like dewalt, milwaukee, makita, and ryobi go on sale.
Im not saying these are bad tools, but throwaway comes to mind. If hart in its rebranding is around in ten years i will retract. Note i put craftsman (both version) ridgid, and kobalt on the second team. Chervon seems to be consolidating but inthink that means 1-2 more battery platforms and not guaranteed compatibility.

1.5ah batteries on brushed tools, what last five minutes. Lol

Not a bad deal at all, like others have said it's a clone of ryobi which is a clone i rigid etc. the higher end drills are made with more solid material think metal vs hard plastic. Thats good if your a construction worker that beat up your tools everyday but for a home owner ryobi is a good weekend tool and Hart is an even better steal. I'm too invested in ryobi currently but if I didn't already have so many batteries from them I would probably switch over to Hart.

Idk why this keeps getting touted everywhere. It will almost certainly get bought out if Walmart decides to stop selling it as the house brand. wouldn't worry. Esp at the price. One should be able to start over with a new ecosystem in 3+ years

Is this the same one that was $99 on Black Friday?

ETA: Yes, found it. I knew I saw this in store during Black Friday season. It comes in a very small box to be a 4 piece set. There were plenty left after Black Friday. I think my store had them marked down to $99 because no one was buying them.

Always went with Dewalt and never had a problem. Just ordered a set of 60 impact bits and accessories from Makita and I'm blown away at how good they are. After all they are just bits, but next time I need a power tool I may check out Makita.
