How does this compare to getting an UV lamp and an OLED TV to watch beaches in the Maldives?

We do the Maldives frequently and love it. Wouldn't pay this much for 5 nights (we use points), but it's for the best that this does not include airfare. That's a hard trip to make in economy. Keep in mind you'd likely need a charter once you arrive in Male. Airfare can be expensive and even if you're booking with miles, you'll still be paying out of pocket for the charter to whichever island you stay at.

If you're going all the way out there, don't cheap out and forego an overwater villa. Beach villas are great but overwaters allow for snorkeling right out your back door.

hey guys, maybe a bit off topic so apologies in advance. How bad is the humidity there? I can somewhat tolerate heat but from what I heard, it's like over 80% year round. Do the seaplanes have a/c? Any input is appreciated!

It sounds expensive but it may be worth it. What is the rough total cost for a couple including flight, overwater villa, and meals? Also, any nearby places that you would recommend to make another stop to make it worth the long flight? TIA
For sure! If you're headed out that way, it's pretty easy to stop through cities like Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Colombo, etc. A lot of your connections will route you through one of (if not several) cities, and those are great cities to explore. There are a lot of nice resorts and all of those cities are pretty major tourist hubs (with exception of probably Sri Lanka). In fact, the Maldives is quite reliant on shipments by sea from those cities, and you may want to bring some food with you while there in order to save on food costs once you get to the island. Be prepared to pay a premium for food (and activities). It's a pay to play country but it's absolutely gorgeous. Our butlers when we go out always remind folks that they're visiting "the most beautiful zip code on earth".

I can't really say what the rough total cost would be since I use points to travel, but I'd say anywhere from $500-$1,000/night is pretty standard for accommodations for one person (or a couple).

mind sharing how you use points to make this more affordable?
We use credit card points and airline miles. I'm a retired blogger (pulled my site when the Pandemic hit since we stopped traveling) but there are plenty of points and travel bloggers who cover this topic at length. You can use major transferrable currencies from banks and loyalty programs (Chase, Amex, Citi, Marriott, etc) to book travel. Although when it comes to the Maldives, you'll still be paying some out of pocket for things like Charter flights, food and activities -- it's just one of those destinations that you can't quite do for free.

This deal includes all 3meals from 3 different restaurants and you will be only paying for sea plane transfers which is around $450 additional for round trip

Keep in mind there are huge sharks all over maldives. For ppl that might be too scared of that. I see many sharks come right to shore. I scuba dive there.
What type of sharks? I thought I saw that you can do whale shark excursions.

It's all-inclusive so if you ask at the bar they might have it..however, Corona is a Mexican beer so maybe not.

Thanks for sharing your experience. A lot more expensive than I thought but it is probably worth it if it is once in a life time trip.

It's a beautiful location but daresay a little overrated. Main reason we've been 3 times since it's an easy trip from when we're in Asia. Even with points, it's an expensive location due to food/beverage. This is what makes this deal more enticing.

Slated to go next month from the US to the new Waldorf Astoria property. Long trip but will be good for the family to get out a bit!
