Thanks so much Munky!! I literally just got rejected by Frontier, whose rep, of course, told me I could only get the discount if I downgrade to that one 50/50 FiberOptic Internet plan. Which plan do you have? I have the 500.

So I called them again, saying let's do a 3-way call with EBB to clarify this, b/c I believe the speed doesn't matter, I should qualify for the discount. They kept repeating over and over that their upper mgt and marketing dept told them only the 50/50 plan qualifies, and they refuse to call up the EBB. They can't change the "rules". In fact, they're not even the ones who handle this, its their "offline" dept, who do not speak to customers and there's no number to reach them. WTF??

I guess I gotta keep calling back until I can find a manager who will do the 3 way call with EBB? Feel like this is not worth the hassle. It's sooooo frustrating! They definitely try to make it as hard as possible for you to get the discount. Frown

You don't happen to have the name of the agent/manager who helped apply the discount for you, do you? Smilie
My wife spoke to Diana (she pronounced it DEE-ana) at Frontier, and Kevin at the EBB. Kevin patched her through to Frontier, and Diana was absolutely incredulous at what we went through. I also have 500/500.

I got the same crock of bull about the "offline" department the first time prior to my wife speaking to Diana. You need to be ready and able to file a complaint with your state's public utilities commission, and you need to tell whatever manager you speak to that the PUC will be your next call of you're lied to again. Be sure you tell them you've spoken to the EBB and that they stated in no uncertain terms there are no speed requirements or limitations in this plan. That's according to Kevin at the EBB. I sincerely hope you don't have to call the EBB, it was over an hour waiting for a rep with them.

Good luck.

Haha, I know how long it takes to speak to someone at EBB, I had to wait 1.5 hours last week in order to get approved in the first place! So having to jump through another hurdle at Frontier is not fun. But thank you so much for your help! I will try again. It sounds like the key is to actually call EBB first, so they can initiate the 3 way call to a Frontier rep? I feel like calling Frontier first is just going to take me down the same rabbit-hole that I've already been down for 1+ hour today.

A lot of it with Frontier is just the luck of the draw which rep you get. You might get someone who just wants to do their job, or you might get some twerp who just wants to say "no" and make your life hell.

I wish I could say there some magic or code to enter, there really isn't. Just keep trying if you have the time. Eventually you'll get someone decent.

Cheers.

No dice. I tried twice: first I called Frontier and asked to speak to Diana. They said they can't transfer me to "an agent of your choosing". Next I called EBB. Waited for more than an hour, finally got someone, who sounded a bit clueless and not really willing to help. They said there's no speed restrictions, true, but ultimately it's up to the service providers to decide how to apply the credit, they have final say. He didn't want to do the 3 way call with a Frontier rep. So, that's that. At this point, I've probably spent more than 10 hours total trying to deal with various agents. I'm going to give up and move on.

Hopefully my experience helps someone. I agree that it totally depends on your luck if you're able to get a nice agent who's on the ball and willing to help. Good luck!!

I already have Lifeline enabled on Verizon Fios, & already qualified for EBB. Just spoke with Verizon & they confirmed that EBB will make my bill ZERO until funding is available.

Currently my BILL AMOUNT is $49.99, & I pay $19.99 after 3 discounts are applied:
Fios Internet Lifeline -9.25
Auto-Pay and Paper Free Discount -10.00
Fios Internet Discount -10.75

Verizon was unable to clarify if the Fios Internet discount of $10.75 will be reapplied back to my account once EBB funding expires. So, not sure if I should avail of the EBB???

TERMS say - At the end of the program you will be subject to our undiscounted rates and terms and conditions if you continue to receive Verizon's service
Have you taken the offer?

If so, did you get an email confirmation that EBB benefits have been applied to your account?
Does your online account balance reflect the changes the phone CS agent said?

I spoke to a CS agent several days ago.
So far, no email confirmation of the promised EBB benefit and when I log into my account no indication that changes are coming.

As usual, Verizon is very poor with communications.

I finally received the approval notice on 5/28, 16 days after the appilcation. My bill is on the same day. I was still charged the bill.
For 100 off computers, COX said I had to wait for the unique code. Anybody has the experience to receive the code? Why do I have to wait?

Quote from heihei :
I called the COX with more than 1 hour and 4 persons. Nobody can solve the problem.
I was approved by the government. COX did not activate the benefit. My status is still pending.

I have Cox. I applied on the first day. My IDME was approved the first day. What "notice of approval" did you get? Email? On your Cox billing statement" web site?
I see this on the COX website:
"We are experiencing higher than normal application volumes at this time. Applications may be delayed up to 5-10 days. Once approved, it may take up to 30 days for the EBB subsidy to appear on your bill."

Any answers will be helpful Peace
I went through the same talking to 6 different Cox phone repsEEK!

Thanks

I applied the same day as you.
They really knew nothing about it when you called them. Use the email I posted.
$100 discount is one time promotion code for pcsforperson.
If you search this thread, somebody was proved and received the $100 promotion code on the same day of application. It is really unfair to do this.

If one of the family members qualifies for this benefit, and the whole family share the Verizon Fios internet. can the family receive the $50 internet discount?

Update for anyone with Frontier: just called them and they confirmed that the 500/500 fiber optic internet plan will also qualify for the EBB discount, starting June 10! Right now its only their 50/50 plan that qualifies. I'd totally given up, but will see if this one comes through Smilie

Got denied. Me and my husband are joint filiers with income less than 198k and both of us are subject to furlough, due to furlough we lost about 2 months salary (not sure if that doesnt count as substantial loss, or maybe i just misunderstood it), and we got denied.
I received UE for part of 2020 and have a yearly income for 2020 way less than the 99K limit (way less than 50K for that matter) and still got denied ("document submitted shows income too high" or something). Ridiculous.
