Seems like a good deal on T47x units, which are just T80x units without Bluetooth and GPS data (but still has data capabilities, hence the "easy pairing" feature).

license-free FRS (22 channels and 121 privacy codes)
35-mile range (mountain-to-valley, otherwise 8mi open water and 2mi neighborhood)
IPX4 weatherproof (splashing water from any direction, no submersion)
built-in LED flashlight
"Easy Pairing" group call
NOAA weather channel and alerts
included rechargeable NiMH battery pack with microUSB charger (can also use 2X regular AA batteries)
2-year warranty

I'll go ahead and beat the ham radio folks to the punch: yes, the Baofeng UV-5R is a great entry-level ham radio, and if I was looking for something other than decent walkie talkies, I'd get the Baofeng.

There is a TON of technical stuff being thrown around about these that I don't understand . . . I just need to know if my kids will like using them around the yard and on hikes? Thanks!
Technical translator here: A mile range is perfectly reasonable to expect, and these are meant to be easy to use.

Little more detail: 35 miles is marketing, you won't get that unless the two of you stand on mountaintops with fresh batteries and no civilization nearby. These don't need a special license. There will likely be interference and reduced range if you use them in an amusement park, since every other family has the same idea.

But connecting a couple of hiking parties across a half mile? Sure. And around the yard? Definitely.
This ham radio operator is going to tell you not to get a Baofeng UV-5R unless you have a license, but that if you really want the range advertised on this FRS radio, you should get a ham radio license because FRS doesn't really go that far except in ideal situations/environments.

Got these in the other day. They are very nice. Super value at sale price. I'd be tempted to buy more at regular ~$90 price if I needed more than 2.

Surprisingly clear voice quality. Packed with impressive amount of features (NOAA radio is neat) and IPX4 rated so plenty rugged for general usage.

I found few in my local Walmart priced at $34.50 You might want to check your local store but it's a huge YMMV.

Been testing out in suburban area. I'm only getting 1 Mile range on these on high power mode. Gets staticky after that.

That's the range I would expect. I've tested similar power FRS radios (older Motorola models) and got about 1 3/4 miles but it was very hit or miss/position sensitive. Under 1/4 mile it worked well but between 1/4 and that maximum 1 3/4 sometimes it was progressively more hit/miss with local spots where elevation or buildings were apparently in the way.

Per the FCC submission the T107 are only 200mW.
https://fccid.io/AZ489FT4930
I bought some used radios and found the FCC ID search was really handy as you could really tell what the output power is for various radios.
I will say I was impressed that even a 200mW radio can could cover a 100 acre park. If I had seen just the 200mW number I wouldn't have guessed 1/3 mile range would have been possible.

sounds about right

for some reference, my Motorola Talkabout 250's, an FRS radio with 0.5W, would get the same range as that in suburbs. it had superior ERP
these are basically made like junk
