No. That being said I have them and love them. They're great but to answer your question, coming from someone with 2 of these, no they're not as good. 😞

It's actually a good comparison to the pb2000. The PB2000 hits lower but this Klipsch will have higher output in the chest thump region. This Klipsch is always regarded as the one Klipsch sub to buy and at $580 I'd say it is a really good deal. This will outperform an equally priced PB-1000.

Edit: I'm going to get flamed so hard for saying I'd take any Klipsch over any SVS. I'm ready for it, lol. Let's go!

That's the one I use everyday! I think I didn't even have to pay tax on it! Wireless kit is awesome. Weird that sale hasn't come back in several years, seems fry's had some unbeatable klipsch deals for some reason.

Not a huge SVS fan, but you're sorta wrong. The PB2k is 1500w peak power and 550 RMS. Chest thump region??? Is that another way of saying it doesn't go as low? If this is a sealed sub it's really more designed for tighter non HT sound anyways.
Chest thump is typically regarded as 60-80hz, which this sub has a decent amount more output at.

Also, that large horizontal cavity in the front bottom is the port. Did you just scroll down to troll the comments or did you actually look at the item you are commenting on?

Did you read my last replies? I own a PB2000 and a Klipsch sub. As cited in the review I posted, you don't wanna peak anywhere past 25hz. People spend tons of money on devices to tune subs to not have odd peaks and dips. The optimal setup is called a "house curve ".

And some don't but still like a bump in the chest. Either way, this sub has a lot of headroom above 25hz and could be tuned well. Furthermore, good job finding a very good review of a the sub and solidifying this being an excellent price at $580. Only DIY subs can touch this level of performance for $580 or less.

It's not a bad sub. It's not a bad price either. The hard part is at this price point how far do you want to go? based on the size of the room many go with 2 subs. at this level you're not gar from the really amazing subs with app phase adjustment, tuning options, multiple ports for plugging etc.. I have 4 subs. If I could go back in time I'd get 2 tier 1 primo subs vs ok ones. just depends how serious you are about the whole HT setup. to each their own.

I did find it strange you shouldn't use LFE. Rather you need to set crossover or get that nasty curve.

Not only do I remember it, but I beat that deal at Fry's. Went in to the one in Duluth, GA and they were all sold out. Except for the floor one in their demo room that they never used and had only been sitting out for 2 weeks. They sold it to me for $200. 6 years later and it's still a beast.

Not bad for a starter sub. Doubt you can find a 15" home theater grade sub for less unless you go DIY.
Dont bother buying 2, if you are able to spend that much, upgrade to something like Hsu VTF-15H Mk2 or whatever is the most expensive SVS sub you can afford - WAY more bass of every kind, but still amazing audio reproduction and tons of features. Only thing you dont get with Hsu is some sort of fancy app like SVS has. Personally once I calibrate my subs I dont find myself changing the settings other than the sub gain on the amp anyway ... but Im sure there's a use case for an app controlled subwoofer.
