I used to love these and have 4 sets. These exact batteries that I purchased in 2020 and at the end of 2019 stopped keeping a full charge between uses and even worse, a number of my battery powered led lighting products no longer "recognize" these batteries. It's like they aren't even there. I have the really nice OPUS charging & testing unit and despite multiple cycles of "discharge & refresh" the Amazon AA batteries (both 2000 & 2450 mAh) continue to experience these issues.

You can order excellent high capacity AA batteries from IKEA and of course, look for sales on the top brands (Fujitsu runs deals fairly often).

Bottom Line, these Amazon batteries are hit & miss and definitely do not last "forever" .... more like months to a year (although the Amazon rechargeable batteries I purchased PRIOR to 2019 are great and haven't caused me any problems).
During a Amazonbasics aaa deal, people said that they are made in China. So, these too very well could be. I bought these a couple of times in the past, but they died much sooner than my Eneloops did. I now go for quality than quantity. If you can't wait for a deal and have an Ikea nearby, consider getting some Ladda rechargeables. They are reportedly made in Japan and are relabeled Panasonic/Eneloops.

Last time I checked LADDAS were no longer available locally or online ymmv perhaps.

Another option is RayHom AA Rechargeable Batteries 2800mAh Ni-MH Battery (16 Pack) for $15.99 after the $5.00 coupon and they have 1536 Ratings

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

I like those but looking at the page, I found EBLs with a better rating. Both batteries have a B score from Fakespot and about the same price too.

I would NOT recommend these batteries. I've had two batches and both expanded and began to explode after less than one year of use. I'm using the Amazon recommended charger and don't expose them to any moisture.

The AAA versions have always been stellar. AA, I'll never buy again.

POWEROWL AA Rechargeable Batteries, 2800mAh High Capacity Batteries 1.2V NiMH Low Self Discharge, Pack of 16 is a far better deal than this. With the 30% off coupon you'd get it for $18.81 + tax

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQ8Y...UTF8&psc=1

These batteries are much higher capacity that Amazon basics batteries.

My ikea had been out of laddas but suddenly more showed on through their online inventory. I went today and they had them for 3.99 with a date of 2047. Guess got lucky with a recent batch

Are the recent Amazon Basic made in China? If so, what color were the wrapper of the battery?

How did a battery purchased in 2020 refuse to keep charge in 2019? Lol.
