This is the Walabot DIY, not the Plus version.

$21.00, either $5.99 S/H or spend $35 in total for free shipping.

I've held off on trying this with it's mixed reviews, but for $21, I'm in even if it doesn't work amazingly.

It penetrates concrete and drywalls up to four inches and offers a few different modes to enhance the user experience exponentially. Modes This DIY Wall Scanner requires a smartphone that runs on the Android 6.0 (or above) operating system. Once the phone is connected to the device and image mode is set, real-time wall image is provided with the exact location of studs and other items. this device features an expert mode that helps detect movements which are helpful in tracking pests and rodents. The Pan mode provides an overview of the wall, essentially mapping its interior features to give you an overview. The raw mode finds stud edges and allows you to map each stud in perfect detail, making it simple to mark the edges and find the stud's center for precise placement. All the objects are color-coded and labeled for convenience.

I have the "pro," and it works surprisingly well. I have both lathe and metal studs depending on which floor of the house I'm on.

Unfortunately, since it's extremely slow to get going (plug to phone, mount phone to base, open app, calibrate, choose wall), I rarely use it unless I need to check for a wire or pipe.
There is a 100% chance that as a man, you will hold the stud finder up to yourself and go, "found the stud."
Magnets work great for finding screw and nail heads, but those may or may not be in the middle of the studs. And they fail miserably at finding other things behind the sheetrock.

Looks cool and all but I don't really want to pull this out, pull my phone out, plug them into each other, find the app, and calibrate it every time I want to find a stud.

I would rather go with a more durable and convenient stud finder.

Use an old phone. Have one that I use strictly for things like this (i.e. borescope with an Android app). The additional bonus is I can keep their likely sketchy apps off of my main phone, and keep it off my home network as well

That one works great for finding metal. Unfortunately, that's not so great when you're trying to avoid hitting pipes.
Yeah was just throwing it out there for those just looking for a basic studfiner for hanging things. Hard to beat the magnet in my experience.

just got mine and Im impressed how well it works. When I was mounting my TVs, I bought a cheapo no name one off Amazon and just ended up using my magnet one because that amazon one was junk. Walabot made it so damn easy to spot wooden studs and pipes/wires. Very worth the $21

Í picked up a couple cheap neodynium magnets, and I've had better luck with them than any stud finder. One nail at the top of the stud, and one at the bottom, and I have a perfect marker (though with your disclaimer of the nails sometimes being off-center, like you said).
