No, I usually take sim, activate in any compatible device, make couple of calls to ensure its activated, then place the sim in drawer and pay 2nd month bill once it's due (usually 2nd bill gets due 7 days before the next cycle) and I get gift card code on 30th or 31st day....boom

The port has nothing to do with the order itself other than if you want the rebate card... they will ship the phone immediately since you pay "full" price for it. I guess the fact that they have many automated ways for you to correct rejected info shows they've been through this enough to know it happens and won't hold or kill orders because of it.

Data point: I ordered 20 mins apart and first phone shipped within an hour and the other is still in process.

Use to but dont think anymore. Not 100%, basing on some reddit posts. I was trying to do GV tonight not realizing but I did not notice the rebate going away, however my order failed due to OOS so not much of a data point. Seems too risky now to take chance.

I just ordered a number/sim from the list of acceptable carriers. I will have to wait two days to get it activated but at least I will be ready with port info and ready to go next time
