I was interested in this when it was first announced but the more I see videos about it, the more I think I'll just stick to video pinball which is what this essentially is.
I'm all things retro gaming, but the lower end consumer pinball tables don't really appeal to me. I've seen some awesome higher end ones - with vibration and good accelerometers for nudging, but those cost a few times what this one does. I don't think the tech is ready to be mass produced cheaply yet.
This table is a tenth of what a basic real pinball table costs. You can't get a real ball without paying a hefty price, they require professionals to move, and require maintenance on top of all of that.
Digital pinball is NOTHING like the real thing. Williams does a close version of it, but even then, it's flawed. True wizards know that a full-scale machine is something that you make love to, engaging in a dance with the table itself, becoming one with the cabinet. Zen is wacky and fun, but the feeling of disconnect is so staggering that I don't even consider it "pinball" in even the loosest of terms. :/

If you think this gets close to the real thing, you haven't spent enough time with the real thing.
As someone who has owned pinball machines since he was 10, and has spent more time in pinball arcades over my life than is healthy, I can say that this is a toy and better than nothing on a boring night, but definitely not a substitute for the real thing.
I gotta admit, I don't see the appeal to a pinball machine without all the clunky mechanical stuff in it!

Thanks for the insight. I went and looked, and the BB reviews has some pictures of it clearly showing what you're saying - it's just a 'screen' imbedded in it. Disappointing.

yet you'll comment... What a sad life. These have been sold out and highly sought, so you're in the minority, have a nice day.
My friend has got the Star Wars one and being a huge skeptic here are my thoughts after about 10 hours with the machine.
Is the pinball table and cab cool, yes yes it is. Is the fact that they have multiple games built into one machine cool, also cool.
How close is it to a real pinball machine, like a 6/10. Still fun to play with though. I honestly am not even sure if you can tilt these machines as we are too scared to try cause we dont want to damage the lower screen.
Is this table worth the $600 price tag, nope not at all. I know they are sold out, but as they say suckers born every minute. Realistically if I were to buy one after all the time I spent so far playing his to get a feel for it I probably would not want to pay more than $300-$400. There is just not enough in it to justify the higher cost, when you can get a real pinball second hand for under $700 for the lesser known games. Yes I understand some places resale real pinball machines for $1500-2000. If you are in the market and know the right people and forums you can get way better prices, just like with everything in life.

I'm glad the game did not have Sarah Jessica Parker on it....

I've got 50+ real pins, so I'm naturally skeptical
