In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

For the iPhone 12 Pro, you'll pay tax on $1000 plus the $170 price difference ($1000 price - $830 credit) plus any potential shipping ($7) or assistance fee ($20).
I'd personally go buy an iPhone 8 to trade in instead of your iPhone 11 Pro (which I'd sell myself) but that's work that you'll have to tackle asap to take advantage of this promotion this weekend.
IT IS NOW REQUIRED
"
1. Activate a new line of service on an eligible plan.
2. Purchase a new iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, or iPhone 12 mini on a monthly payment plan and pay applicable sales tax on pre-credit price at time of purchase.
3. Trade in an eligible device in good condition"
Did they change it?
The key here is that the phone needs to be paid off. At that point, the promotional credits are moved to the account level, not at the line level. This is documented here:
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...al-credits
Like I said, you can say and believe what you want to believe. I've been there and done that by trading in my phone which was paid off early and traded it in for another Tmobile promo, then my promo credit had been stopped, so I had to fight for it by going thru all the hassles.
It's totally up to you.

Was able to do 2 (paid off) good condition phones. Existing customer with older (6 line) Simple Choice North America Plan - did not have to add a line.
Compared this Mothers Day Promo to just "upgrading" on the account and it appears the Mothers Day Promotion is a better way to go (it was confusingly explained to me as to why promo was better but no real price difference though as you still get the $830 credit less trade-in value).
So I traded an iPhone 8 Plus 64GB:
$830 Credit - $99 (Estimated Trade in Value) = $731 promo credit / 24 months = $34.59 installment plan - $30.45 monthly bill credit for 24 months = $4.45 per month will be due. Was able to get shipping and "$20 Payment Support Fee" (whatever that is) waived after pressing CS agent.
Also traded an iPhone 11 64GB:
Similar deal with higher trade in value (not sure what he trade in will be doesn't really matter as whatever the trade value is - the difference is given in monthly credit to reach the $830 total).
Tax was $49.80 per phone. Not charged until new phone ships.
So you DO NOT get an $830 Trade In Value for your old phone.... you get the usual low trade in value BUT they make up the difference with monthly credits to equal the $830 - convoluted.
Just saw Boost mobile selling reconditioned iphone 8 for $149..That's the cheapest option I could find online.
eBay ,Swappa, FB marketplace are all around 175-200 for iphone 8 in mint condition
Kindly share if you are aware of other options.

OK, but the total credit that T-Mobile extends is at the account level.
If the credit needed for the new phone exceeds the allowable total credit at the account level, T-Mobile will charge you the gap amount up front. In my experience, not all of that is recoverable. So paying off another phone on the account first might free up enough credit at the account level to take full advantage of this new deal. (Although you lose the monthly bill credits from the phone being paid off, if applicable.)
