Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

The value of the trading for sure is less than $830. For example if the estimated trading value is only $30 then you will get $30 credit in the first month or two and the difference of $800 would be spread out over 24 months.

You will get $830 in total credits for the iPhone 8. They'll give you some value for the actual phone itself and the balance of the $830 as promotional credits.

You still owe $220 on the phone ($22/mo for 10 months). To pay it off, you pay $220. You will continue to receive promotional credits of $10/mo for the next 10 months. At the end of 10 months, you'll have paid the net $120 ($220 you pay now less $100 you accrue in your remaining credits).
