I like the fact that finally Apple made the 6.7 size with 12 Pro Max but if I trade my Galaxy A71 ( a 6.7 size) is it worth it to pay the extra $270? ... or get the iphone 12 for free and trade it later?

You still owe $220 on the phone ($22/mo for 10 months). To pay it off, you pay $220. You will continue to receive promotional credits of $10/mo for the next 10 months. At the end of 10 months, you'll have paid the net $120 ($220 you pay now less $100 you accrue in your remaining credits).
Sorry again. My mind is on weekend already Big Grin
Assume I did not pay off now, for 10months, I would still receive $10/month and I pay $12/month. So in the end I am paying only $120 out of my pocket.
But for early payoff, I am paying $220 out of my pocket.

You'd have to pay off the full balance- the $10 bill credit would remain until it's up

Yes, you have it right. Either way, after 10 months you will be out of pocket $120. You can stick with that you're doing and pay $12/mo ($22/mo charge less $10/mo credit) for the next 10 months. Or pay off the phone now at $220 and continue getting the $10/mo in credits to your bill.

This iphone 12 Red is not the same red as iphone 11 or iphone Se. This is completely different red which many did not like. You might have to see it in person and decide. Take your kid to best buy or apple store and show him/her the red color
thanks again

Question again: do I need to trade-in my XS Max currently on my account or the 7 Plus laying around my house or any phone on the list to get credits?

ideally whichever gives you the biggest net credit or value, ie if you can sell the XS elsewhere for a decent price vs the 7, as long as it is eligible

Any phone on the list; doesn't have to have been used on your account at all. Doesn't even have to be a T-Mobile phone i.e. you can turn in a Boost locked phone or an AT&T phone. Your two phones listed do qualify for different credit amounts.

Either works just depends on if you want more credit or not

I traded in an iPhone 7 for $415 trade-in value on last deal that ended last weekend. Now it looks like I could get $530 trade-in value for the iPhone 7 with this new deal. Question -- From the last deal, I've received the new iPhone 12, but haven't opened the box yet nor sent in the old iPhone 7. What are the chances I could cancel the old deal and/or get T-Mobile to change the promotion code to the new one?
