Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

wow how?! costco in phx said NO!
Must have been an uninformed associate. I saw their screen open with the offer information with today's date on it as the effective date.. that or they just didn't want to deal with it 🤷🏾

its the same deal. instead of doing at a tmobile store, you do it at a costco kiosk. the benefits are no trade in fees like tmobile charges, a $30 costco gift card and you get the phone inspected on the spot.
Thanks for that clear answer. It answers a few items all at once.

I saw this deal early this morning and upgraded two IPhone X with two IPhone Pros by accident, I intended to order two Pro Maxes. Long story short - 2 hours later I was able to order the Pro Maxes with the help of customer service but they could not cancel my Pros as they were ready to ship. They tell me I will need to refuse the IPhone Pros when they arrive and once TMobile receives them, I will be getting a refund (hopefully without being double charged for both the Pro and Pro Maxes.

Overall a little inconvenient but still a great deal considering I made the mistake. Probably a silly question but has anyone else ordered the wrong phone by mistake? What was your experience?

This deal is good EXCEPT the 24-month requirement. Sure, the phone is cheap after a trade-in, but then you have to factor in things like 24 x (T-Mobile Monthly Rate - Mint Mobile Monthly Rate), and suddenly, it's not so good any more. This is the problem I keep running into and prevents me from jumping in on these deals.
This argument has been made over and over. The deal is not for everyone, it's good for those who stay with TMo and have multiple lines.

It's been answered and addressed already; numerous folks here have been with Tmobile for years now, with multiple lines, discounts, etc, and paying less than 20 for each line. No need to convince us that this deal sucks or that prepaid is cheaper. Maybe for you - sure. Have a great day! Wave

Worked at Costco? That would save $20 help fee. Is the phone also cheaper?
No, phones are not cheaper at Costco for this deal. Yeah, Costco does not charge $20 help fee.

As long as it not black listed and it meet all the trade-in requirements then you're good to go. Locked or unlocked, don't matter at all.
Just got off the phone with tmobile and did the purchase online....tmobile rep waived the 2 day shipping nice...I paid $230 or so for the XR and traded it in..for the 12... I know Im tied in for 24 months via credits but have been with tmobile for 15 years now...so Im good with it.. Thanks OP!

whats the difference between trading in an iPhone 8 vs iPhone 11? does both of them give same $830 credit over period of 24 months?
1. you lose the difference in "street value" between those two. You're better off trading in the older, low value phone (8) and selling the newer one (11) separately.
2. yes

Thanks. Ppl said there was a 30 Costco shop card offer also.

I recall Costco phones used to be cheaper than list price.

Will I be able to unlock the phone if I pay it off early? Will the monthly credit continue rolling if I pay it off?
How do you go about paying it off early? I also want to get it paid upfront instead of financing the little difference for trading in the phone.

That would be a first. In the past anything not stolen or blacklisted was acceptable.

I just did the trade in at the store, but I don't see the promotion applied to my account? How long does it take to show up?

All my five lines have amounts due and monthly credit attached. I can just pay off online so it's no longer on EIP and then do this deal. How quickly after I pay off the balances before I can order new phones to get new credit for EIP?

Do you need membership to use Costco's wireless services?
