Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

Done, traded in my iPhone 8 for a 12. I ve been a TMO customer for a long long time so I don't mind bill credits. Now I can hold on to my wife's XR and trade that in when iPhone 15 comes out. Thanks OP!

Is that the serial number or IMEI number?

This happened to me once when I seemed to have hit my internal credit limit. Once I paid another phone off I was able again to check out myself online. I am able now to reproduce this error when I hit the a total outstanding EIP $$$ amount that seems to be my limit.
I thought that might have been the case, so I paid off one of my phones last night, but I still kept getting the same error. I still don't know what the cause of the error was, but T-Force took care of it regardless and I got a new iPhone 12 Pro.

Yes, but not on the same line unless you pay the other one off first. If you have another line available without an active EIP you can use that line instead.
I just ordered the iPhone 12 for the XS trade in then. What should I do.? I did Samsung A32 phone promo on same line .

Could you please explain the Costco offer or add it to wiki. I am interested to get a iphone trading in an iPhone 8 Plus
Just walk in to Costco with your membership card and imei numbers of the phones to trade in. (In our case both phones XRs, are already active on current T-Mobile account)

Wireless kiosk guy chose upgrade option for 2 lines after locating T-Mobile account with primary account phone number.

They placed order in their system for two new phones first, captured imei for those two, I had to pay 6% taxes on total amount upfront.

Then, they switched back to T-Mobile system to determine trade-in value.

Printed paperwork, explained EIP terms.
I politely declined insurance and pelican case they tried to sell us.

Handed over paperwork and shipping labels etc. Done!

Went to local Costco, placed an order for IPhone 12. Traded Samsung 9. Also got $30 Costco gift card. The phone will be mailed in a couple of days

Anyone know if T-Mobile will take an iPhone 8 as a trade if if you can't see the water damage strip. Bought iPhone 8 on OfferUp, but the water strip is not visible by the SIM card tray.
If it's questionable, try not to leave the $830 in promotional credits up to some person working at Assurant who may or may not invalidate your trade-in because of this issue. This means avoid sending in the trade-in via mail if you can. Go do the promotion in a store; have them inspect your phone and verify they'll accept it before going forward.

Good point. I just purchased an iPhone 8 from Swappa for this deal. Mt seller want an individual, and the IMEI want listed after my purchase. Fortunately, they responded to my request quickly.

I'll sell my iPhone se 2nd Gen for a slight net profit after all is said and done.

What line did they 'upgrade' you on? Was it another line on your account that had an option for an upgrade or was it the line that has an EIP for the A32 on it? You're going to have to look in your EIP page and see what is tied to what. From my understanding, you can only have 1 EIP per line.

Log in to their site and then click this link to get to the EIP page.

Or access it from Bill & Pay, then all the way at the bottom select the EIP link

Here is to make it easy to figure out . I have 4 lines total . I did the free Samsung phone phone with trade in on all 4 lines 3 weeks ago. Today I did the iPhone12 for free with trade in for XS . XS is used by one of the 4 lines I have . How do I pay off?

The deal you viewed is not this deal.

I purchased from we buy mobile Corp. But with 7700 sales, it was really hit or miss that I got the information in a timely manner. OrignF doesn't have stock photos, so based on kamaaina's description, you should have access to IMEI immediately after purchase.

I cannot say I have a concrete recommendation, but I'm just glad I dodged a bullet
