Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

Apologies if this has already been asked/answered, but how does the EIP credit check work if we're adding this at Costco? We already have several devices on our T-Mobile plan that are on an EIP, but we would be upgrading on a line that is not on an EIP. Does that mean there would be a new credit check, or is that not necessary since our account is in good standing with an EIP?

I was told to becareful with the pay off. This is not the same as adding a line promo. This is on existing line and credit will come only when the phone is under payment plan.
That is simply false. Unless the promotion specifically says so, you can pay it off anytime. That is in fact the official t-mobile language if you read it. The credit is on the line, so if you can't get another promo or cancel the line without impacting the credit.

Not true, if you pay off the phone. Credits move to account level from the line. Clearly mentioned in device credit terms. I'll find the link and edit my comment shortly with the update.
That is also false. Your credit doesn't move off the line. The credit stays on the line. I literally have 2 of the iphone 12 mini deal's. I paid them off and sold them. They are still showing up under each line's promo. If they move off the line, then you are free to cancel the line or get another promo under the line. That means you could literally be building 50 promos on your account. How does that make sense?

I am really having hard time understanding this deal. Can someone dumm it down for me plz . I am trying to give them my XR and get 12 pro max and this is what they told me:

Device: iPhone 12 Pro Max 128GB
Full Price: $1099.99
Downpayment:$349.99 plus tax and fees
Monthly: $31.25 monthly for 24 months .

I don't understand what those numbers r for I thought it was simple math 1099.99-830 =269.99 is what I owe . So what is that 349.99 ??? And what is that 31.25 monthly for 24 months ???

Off topic, so feel free to keep scrolling, but people here seem pretty knowledgeable......when it comes to protection for your iPhone, do you use 360 or pay for AppleCare separately? Seems like AppleCare is slightly cheaper and would have lower deductibles?
I think most ppl are going to prefer getting it through Apple if you happen to have an apple store in your area.

Presumably since the credits come through EIP, the phone will be locked to my account for two years, correct?

I'm telling what's mentioned on tmobile and it's clearly in the terms. It makes sense bcoz even if the credit goes to account level u can't cancel the line which is the first n foremost condition. And yes u can have multiple Credits on each line by doing this. Plz read it urself..

https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...al-credits

You may have one Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo per line at a time. To get a new Recurring Device Credits (RDC) promo and keep your current credit, you must pay off the existing EIP first. If you pay off your EIP early, you'll continue to receive the promised Recurring Device Credits (RDC) as an account-level credit through the remaining months of the promotional credit period (up to 24 or 36 months).Additionally, you can't pay off an EIP by deducting the remaining Recurring Device Credits (RDC) installments from the remaining EIP balance. The full EIP balance must be paid to close out the plan.

He wants to trade in 12 for 12 pro max. So losing 30 is better than wasting 400 Smilie

Paying it off defeats the purpose of the $830 in trade-in credits though, doesn't it?
