Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

Yes, the deal requires signing up for an EIP. You can pay in full later after the monthly bill credits start posting.
Thanks. That's what I needed to know.

currently on simple choice 6/120, and have 10 lines. every line is shown eligible for upgrade, no EIP or any sort of, after i select iphone 12, it shows an error right below "upgrade" and "add to line" buttons. I can still proceed til payment, but I dont know if I can actually submit the order. I want to buy an S9 for this deal, so want to make sure i can actually do the deal. any idea about the error?

If I were to buy this for selling elsewhere, are there any restrictions - do I need to pay them off before I can do that? I realize unlocking could be a challenge while on EIP but can I sell it as a TMobile locked phone?

No, it'll be denied. T-Mobile specifically says the trade-in must be paid off.
I got my iPhone 12 Pro yesterday and a deferred trade in is to be send in my iPhone 8 which is an att phone and locked to att because payments are due on it . I told him that it's locked to att and he said as long as it's good condition Tmobile doesn't check if it's locked or unlocked

It's still working however and not blocked I guess the owner is still making payments . If it's blocked by Tmobile then it would be very easy for them to take the block off as it's blocked by them

I never buy a phone from Swappa. Do you get imei right away from all the seller after you make a purchase or it depends on seller? I can get iPhone 8 for $229 at local store or $214 from swappa. I going to buy 2 iPhone 8.

you need to read what i've posted before, and I linked the reddit just so you can debate in there. and I injected my response from my own experience of the same scenario that there was a guy asking me the exactly same thing that i've done before. and yes I didn't learn about the IMEI in the thread, when have I said I got it from the thread? think before you talk please.
Under what you say, if you sell your phone and that person uses it as a trade in with t-mobile, you would lose your promo credits. I don't think that would make sense.

Locked/Unlocked is not the same thing as Paid Off/Not Paid Off.
You can have a paid off EIP T-Mobile phone, but it is still locked to T-Mobile.

Hope you're phone trade in is OK. But for the poster who asked, T-Mobile is not going to accept a T-Mobile phone as trade-in that is blocked by T-Mobile because that phone has not been paid off.

You have to specifically ask them to process a Direct Delivery order.

Someone told me I paid off the Samsung A32 too early cos first monthly EIP credit was not applied and I paid off in full $282. It says "paid off early closed" and completed ! I fear not getting the monthly EIP on the Samsung A32
