Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

I was bugging the seller to post it in Comments, but the Swappa staff pointed out that it's listed under Serial Number.
Imagine if the device doesn't arrive or the seller ends up keeping the device offering you refund . You will end up stuck with payments with no credits

was able to get the shipping credit back to the account for the 5 trades in. I love T-Mobile Customer service.
5 trades? On one account? I hope 3 of those were done under some other promo. There was a limit of 2 devices per account for the Mother's Day promo that expires soon.

I did the same thing for one my trades. Not sure what kind of price SE2 will bring locally, but I am guessing I will ultimately come out ahead by selling the SE2 and trading the 8 I bought on Swappa. Maybe another SE2 deal is in the cards, but it usually is undervalued in these T-mobile promos anyway.

once you place the order on tmobile do they send you text on phone ? i just got emails . thank you.

How do they know there is balance due on the device
Not sure. they must have a way to check because that is one of the qualifying questions that I am asked every time I do a trade with T-mobile.

You can 1) look on ebay for sellers who list the imei in the listing for iphone 8 or galaxy s9/s9+. Screen burn in is fine as long as no dead spots (no black spots on screen).
or 2) you can do the trade in with an imei from a different phone like the one you purchased and try to get t-force to correcct the imei before you send the phone in.... if you made a mistake and gave the wrong iimei, t-force likely can help you correct that.
I can attest that they CANNOT change the IMEI for you, but as long as the phone is otherwise identical (model, etc.) you can send in a different IMEI phone and it will be accepted (I've done this recently)

Not sure what text you were expecting. If it was the online receipt order. I was emailed after the purchase.

"Once your new iPhone 12 Pro ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Apple iPhone X 256GB Grey - T-Mobile in good condition to receive a one time bill credit of $175.00. "

This is what I received after making the deal.

Can anyone help me clarify what does it mean? Do I still get that $830 trade-in value?

And what does it mean "in bill-credit"? I don't quite understand

Thank you so much!

I just did trade in of iPhone 7 32GB for iPhone 12... The trade-in return shows my trade in is iphone 7 plus 32GB, not the regular iphone 7.... but the IMEI matches exactly as I input for my regular iphone 7..
Would this cause a problem when they receive and inspect??

$830-175 = 655. You will get 655 credit for 2 years.

Did you get one? Were they all not in good enough condition to trade in? How confident can I be that the mirocenter phones will have clean IMEI?
Sorry just seeing your question 12 hours later but yes I bought 2 iPhone 8s from Microcenter when they opened Saturday. Literally the first 2 the salesperson grabbed from the stack in the case were pristine looking. I checked for water damage and out the door $402 with tax for both. IMEI were clean and trade was a breeze. Didn't see a single mention of anyone having trouble with Microcenter phones on here yesterday. I'll look for them again happily if we get more crazy phone deal.
