imo, get whatever is best deal, both will do exact same thing.
PS for those who are too quick to jump on the deals before doing research.... these are old-style clunky batteries and the tools are NOT brushless.
again, thank you for the find, OP
I think most people would prefer the larger 4 mAh battery vs the smaller 1.5 mAh battery. Why would I prefer the smaller battery? Larger battery is a PRO. The larger battery will supply longer lasting battery. As for brushless? Very expensive tools and won't be able to find it at this low price. Is it needed for most people and worth the extra? Probably not.

Thanks.
Thanks.
Let me explain. I went brushless on the circular saw for this exact reason, if you're ripping a lot of boards, particularly if they're 2" or thicker, the brushless makes a massive difference both in terms of how long it will take and, more importantly, IF the tool can actually get the job done. This also comes into play with the driver. There are times when my brushed just can't go any further and then my P238 can just eat that job up.
Having said that, I'm looking at a wall of roughly 20 Ryobi tools and of those, I think I really only need brushless on 3-4. I'm also just a lightweight DIYer, so don't take any of this to apply to major construction/pro users.
Again, just my 2 cents, LOVE Ryobi, and there are a ton of Youtube videos if you're considering a specific application. Good luck!
The idea with this type of battery deal is that the customer will buy many other tools to use with the batteries or a great deal for a person who is already into the Ryobi ecosystem. Ryobi knows what they are doing with these battery deals to hook a customer in buying many tools. I wouldn't order the drill in this deal. If I were to do this deal, I would later order a 5 or 6 combo ryobi deal that already includes the drill with couple 1.5 mAh batteries because those great deals with the drill come around more often..... A battery operated hedger looks good to me as I am using electric hedger and don't like a cord hanging while I am on a ladder. I am not sure if I want to replace my Craftsman gas powered trimmer with Poulan attachments (edger and blower) for battery operated tools yet. It seems very expensive with the Ryobi lawn tools compared to what I paid for my Craftsman and Poulan attachments.
