Not likely. It said value up to $79.99. Most, if not all, brushless tools are $99 or above.

I bought the biggest gorialla ladder at home depot and was up about 7 ft high and it did a great job. I like how the blade is on a angle. I was able to cut so much easier with that angle. Of course I was cutting straight across high on the ladder. Ive never used it standing on the ground and reaching up to cut b4

Pardon the dumb question, but it seems that one can buy the battery/tool and then return the battery. How much refund would I get for returning the battery? Is it possible to buy 10 different tools and return all 10 battery sets? Thanks!

There is no way to know yet but normally you buy the battery kit and the tool you want and then return the battery kit. The "Max refund value" listed next to each link in the wiki will show you what the cost of the tool alone will be (minus tax) if that is an option this time around.

Rinse/repeat for each tool you want.
Not sure why stuff like this is discussed more in HD deal what to return? How to get Free stuff is beyond me. We do not want good deals to stick around us? Do we?. Some would argue HD allows but again the intent to buy the stuff.

Look at the Lowes coupons people start posting pages long coupon and its dead for everyone.

I have it but I don't think it is any good as far as a HAMMER drill. It could be that mine is defective but I couldn't drill my garage floor. It was the first time I used the drill. I could feel the hammer drill vibrations but it wouldn't drill the concrete. I thought the concrete bit might not be sharp so I bought another set and still the same. I even tried a smaller drill bit and it was very slow drilling. I decided to use my Dewalt corded hammer drill and it drilled the holes instantly.

1. Did you see the Wiki at the top?
2. You can try buying the deal multiple times, in past people have done that. Always the chance you will get denied, if you try too many times.

Where can I find the wiki page? I've seen many refer to it, but I don't know where to look.

EDIT: now I see it...

You aren't getting free stuff, you are getting discounted stuff. If HD didn't want people to be able to return the batteries, then why include a "Max refund value" on the receipt for each item? If they intended that you must get the batteries with the free tool to make themselves feel whole, they would require everything be returned when making a return. They are not babes in the woods here, they are not unaware of the game everyone plays with these things. A month ago (still going on), it was a DeWalt 5Ah battery and tool combination which resulted in a good discount if you returned the battery. I don't follow them as much but I think Milwaukee also had (or has) one similar deal. This has been happening for years and I just will not believe that HD upper management is so unaware that they are being taken advantage of here. Rather I believe that the battery/tool combinations like this are a way of getting new people into the Ryobi / DeWalt / Milwaukee / Makita /etc. family. Once you have a few batteries of a particular style, you are going to be less likely to jump ship. For me it started with a two battery/bag pack with a tool from Ryobi, now I have like 50 of their tools.

I have all the old Brushless tools from the return the battery sale 2 christmas' ago. Only new HP tool I have is the newest drill and impact. I might add the new 1/2" impact since they finally made one that works. Needless to say, I only need or want HP batteries. I have so many, that I don't need any in reality.
Cool. Did you actually check what battery packs are recommended? When I am in doubt I check what battery combo's are sold with the tool, in this case the 1/2 impact is sold with a 2AH Lithium (no hp, or high performance) battery https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI...78#overlay. The Q&A has a Ryobi rep stating HP batteries offer 'optimal performance' not specifically calling out 30% more power, or some such, when using HP or High performance batteries. Pretty par for the course with Ryobi.

Ryobi has not been open about the batteries and that makes them more money when someone buys HP batteries that don't help on a brushless tool that's not designed with them in mind. Even youtube breakdowns have misinformation in them but what this person says at the time stamp is sort of right https://youtu.be/XtS243UT00s?t=295 Except contacting Ryobi service reps about the tools without the rear contacts they will tell you the HP batteries offer 'optimal performance' or there is a 'chip' that checks the battery so the rear contacts are no longer needed. If you go back earlier in that video they specifically call out the new Drill and Driver, which you have, as not needing HP batteries because there is no rear clip on them. So now what is right, the new HP's with a clip pull more power and the ones without don't; or they just arbitrarily decided to put clips in some tools but others use a chip to determine if they can pull more power from the battery?

Ryobi is eliminating the 'HP' batteries and going to 'High Performance' batteries. Looking at the High Performance batteries everywhere you cannot find a picture of the rear of the battery to confirm it has the clips. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-18V-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-Lithium-Ion-4-0-Ah-Battery-PBP004/3150394... [homedepot.com] Same goes for the HP Batteries actually. Almost like they don't want to tell you what's going on. As far as Everyone who tried to figure it out the clips just complete a circuit on the battery and then the battery outputs more power. If you checked your HP tool the rear clip does not actual connect to any part of the power delivery system on the tool, it's just in the plastic.

If none of that makes you think and wonder then you just need to go back and watch the release promo for the Ryobi HP Brushless line. Every 18V brushless tool in the promo uses a 1.5AH Lithium (no hp, or high performance) battery. If you want to impress your audience why not go to the HP or High Performance batteries? they were showing how much more they could do then the competition on similar gear, get that 30% extra and blow them out of the water right? Here are some news articles showing the pictures from the promo and Ryobi's site, none are using HP Batteries. https://www.protoolreviews.com/ry...wer-tools/ https://homefixated.com/ryobi-18v...atibility/

At the end of the day someone really should do a project farm type comparison on this so we get to the bottom of it. The misinformation is no good and Ryobi has made nothing clear. Since you literally have no standard batteries you can't do your own check. You just trust the tool is pulling 30% more power. I also have a rock that keeps Tigers away if you want to buy it. I guarantee in the next 5 years Ryobi stops making claims their brushless tools pull more power when using a different type of battery and the clips will completely go away.

So yeah that's why I said people get hung up on brushless too much. Just go off the specs of the tool and the actual real world performance. The main selling point about Ryobi is you can use any of their batteries in any of their tools. This whole more power with specific batteries and brushless is hurting them with their target customers at the end of the day. Maybe that's why they only used 1.5AH lithium batteries in the promo. They hope to show you don't need specific batteries for specific Ryobi tools and everything works just 'optimally'.

Ryobi makes one now, it's brushless and like $120ish though. Trying to push a 7 1/4" blade with only 18 volts isn't ideal.
I have the 7 1/4" brushless and it rips through everything. I also have the smaller one from a kit and it sucked until I slapped a 4ah battery in it. Now it can handle most things.

I just need batteries for the fan from the other deal from toolsdirect.com. Just wondering what the best deal would be for me. Buy two batteries and an expensive free tool and return the tool? Any suggestions? TIA.

Yeah, I didn't word that correctly. I meant to say combining 18V with a 7" blade wasn't ideal, before Brushless.
