Anyone have the 1/2 hammer drill is it decent?
Yes, I have a block garage and used it to drill a ton of holes to fasten wooden strips on it so I could install vinyl siding and it worked great. I drilled a lot of holes over a few weekends.

I just need batteries for the fan from the other deal from toolsdirect.com. Just wondering what the best deal would be for me. Buy two batteries and an expensive free tool and return the tool? Any suggestions? TIA.
Assuming the prices for the tools stay the same, the hedge trimmer would give you the lowest price for the batteries after returning the hedge trimmer. As you suggested, buy the expensive tool.

I've actually been holding off on buying the hedge trimmer, waiting for this deal to come back so I hope this will all be available for pickup on the 24th. I plan on keeping the batteries too!

I still have 3 unopened kits in my garage. I'm such a Ryobi hoarder.
If the batteries are unopened and unused and that old, they are ruined. These batteries do not like sitting around unused.

Not true at all. These lithium batteries can sit at storage charge for years.

I don't understand the advantage of brushless. Nothing I own is brushless and it all works great. What am I missing?

If you already have the tools and working great, no need to upgrade. But if you are in for new tools, brushless has the benefit of being smaller/lighter (better for confined space) and delivering more power. That's why brushless cost more.

Thank you for responding. I now see the relevance of prices put in the wiki. Can we return the tool and get the batteries for cheap?

Yes buying the kit and returning either battery or tool you get the other for cheaper then normal. I bought two last time kept both tools and returned a set of batteries
