Not likely. It said value up to $79.99. Most, if not all, brushless tools are $99 or above.

Very helpful. I had recently bought a new 6amp 40 volt battery for the lawn gear, as well as a new power washer and deck attachment still in box. Looks like limited to 18v tool sets only (and I am in market for a drill)

The tools listed in this sale are probably too high end/expensive for your needs. Based on your description, you appear to be looking at a basis drill. First you have to consider if you need a cordless drill or can get away with just a cheaper corded one. Also consider that all cordless tools eventually need to replace their battery as they wear out over time and these lithium batteries and charger could cost as much as a corded drill. So if you think you'll only be drilling inside, near an electrical outlet, just go for a standard, variable speed, corded drill.

You could keep an eye on a bundle that includes several tools and a couple of batteries, something like this:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../313280033 (the two included batteries are on the weak side, but could be sufficient for your needs)
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../309659455

However, the poster above has a very good point about simple corded drills. It all depends on your needs. I would venture a guess that many here started with one tool, or a simple bundle, then found themselves needing more and more tools.

I would caution against the comments about a simple, corded drill for your needs. Corded drills will have much more power and the cheap ones may not even have variable speed, I.e. you pull the trigger at all and you get full speed. I bought a cheap, corded drill when moving because all my tools were already packed and it has no control so is good for nothing other than full speed drilling. If you're trying to "screw stuff in", even a good corded drill can get you in trouble fast by pulling the trigger a little too much. A cordless drill like the Ryobi would be better for that purpose. If you're a homeowner, the Ryobi line offers a lot of other opportunities; flashlights, yard tools, etc. Get Ryobi's basic drill with this deal. Don't worry about getting anything brushless. Another good option would be Bosch's 12v drill and impact driver combo which can often be had for $80-100 but the range of tools is far, far less than the Ryobi.

Edit: This drill should probably fall into this deal if the limit is $79.

A 4v cordless screwdriver will do all that. Or the Milwaukee M12 drill and screwdriver if you want more versatility

Somewhere buried in this thread I commented that these aren't HP batteries so they are useless to me. I saw many replies that the new HP tools don't use the extra contacts now, just a circuit board to determine if they can pull more power. Those are absolute lies. I have the brand new 1/2" HP impact wrench, new model HP hammer drill and new HP 1/4" impact driver. Only the 1/4" impact doesn't have the extra contacts because it doesn't need the extra power. The 1/2" impact wrench and hammer drill both require HP batteries for full power.

So I missed out of the router I wanted from the combo deal screwup from HD and was hoping this deal might include a router. Anyone know if it was included last time?

Just my own 2 cents...

Buy an electric screwdriver -- a drill will certainly work, but it's big, bulky, harder to fit the bit to worn screws, and if you don't have the clutch set right, you can do some damage to the screw or whatever it's screwing into. I have a couple by the Skill brand, and use them constantly, not only for screws and such, but with things like hex shaft rotary scrub brushes.

That said, a smaller size drill/driver is Real nice, if you can find one -- I've got both a Craftsman Nextec drill and 1/4" impact, and they're my go-to 80% of the time. Yeah, the drill can't compare to my DeWalt or Ryobi, but for most stuff around the home, the lighter weight and smaller size are just ideal.

1 hour charging and multiple batteries are nice for projects, but if you're only using it really occasionally, Harbor Freight has their cheap Drillmaster -- that's what I got for my son who rarely needs one. It takes longer to charge, and won't hold up for decades of use like DeWalt, but it's on sale for $16.97, 18v battery included.

For batteries, if you're a cheap b****** like me, you can save a few bucks going aftermarket for DeWalt & Makita, and to a lesser extent Ryobi [their batteries tend to be a little cheaper anyway]. FWIW, always suggest checking prices for consumables before you buy.

Wow - that's amazing. How is that cordless drill set so cheap? I may need to stop by my local store to pick one up this week...

It's cheap because it uses older battery tech -- NiCd vs Lithium Ion.

It's also an all around "economy" product. Made with cheaper materials (all plastic) and only intended for infrequent basic use around a home.

Should be perfectly fine for your needs.

If you're interested in something a bit smaller an electric screwdriver or 12v drill driver would be a good choice too.

I have a Bosch 12v drill/driver and impact set. I love them! They are great and compact for small things around the house things. Well worth the investment. I have seen the pair down to $80 w/coupon from Lowes. Includes 2 batteries.

I am 100% agreed with your advice. I started years ago with basic corded drill and screw driver. I ended up using more of the manual tools because too many stripped screw heads. I now own Ryobi tool set and I continue to add more tools because I got 4 free batteries when I got the deal couple years ago.

My only issue is all 4 of my Ryobi batteries are 1.5A. I just recently added several pieces of Ryobi tools including pole saw, portable wet/dry vacuum, and router. I should have waited for this deal to get the 4A batteries.
