With free delivery on this natural gas version, a great price to heat your garage, workshop, etc. No vent and 99.9% efficient with O2 depletion sensor, the 6,000 to 30,000 btu output will heat a small to fairly large area.

We have one in the basement and put one in my Dad's garage where he spends a lot of time. No electric required unless you want to add an additional fan, nice when the power goes out.

Note: The propane version is $97, but adds $80 delivery fee, so not a great deal.

He he, except for last winter.
Cool story bro
I have this in a 2.5 car garage in Chicago area. On the coldest of days itd get the garage up to 70+ in about an hour. Its great if you work a lot outside, but don't expect to turn it on and have a toasty car/garage in 15min or anything. This is a great buy though.

Detached garage? Insulated? Finished?

Attached with an insulated door...but typically I have the garage window cracked. Not sure how helpful this is. Lol

These types of ventless gas heaters are not recommended to be used as a primary heat source. They are more designed to supplement smaller areas. You run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. That being said growing up my family and many people I know used propane and natural gas as a primary heat source. We have one of these exact units in a small cabin and have never died. Unless your home is airtight you will probably be fine. Just make sure to have a carbon monoxide detector.
Haha not everyone died from those propane heater, but enough people have died from it for manufacture not recommend it...what do you think houses in cold place have? Great insulation and area that have less geat leak. Your old cabin as kid was not build like houses today...its not just carbon monoxide, its also jow CO2 and O2 it sucks up. You can die from too less oxygen in the air and not even know it and too much CO2 in the air.

You said that you paid around $275 for a 10,000 btu unit with thermostat controlled that I presumed shuts the gas valve/burner off with a standing pilot. I gathered you were handy, but I missed the 'retail' part of the price paid.

Perhaps I was wrong and your thermostat only adjusts the flame that only goes to low and never really goes out. That type of bi-metal thermostat control can be swapped out with this OP unit, or the one at your office. They are not that expensive.

========

Note: Actually, we do have commercial wholesale accounts all over, where my response was "$400 and higher" ..... for just the 30,000 btu unit with thermostat controlled gas valve that shuts the burner completely off. The low end will be with a standing pilot and the higher end will be with auto ignition. At some near point, you are into the wholesale price of a small 85-90% furnace with a blower that of course, you have to vent and requires electric.
No, mine shuts off completely except for the pilot light, of course. For me, I will always have to have a unit w/ the thermostat.

Sure, ignorant people have died from running generators in their house, but this unit has the O2 depletion sensor that shuts it off, while everyone should have a carbon monoxide, smoke and fire sensor/alarm..... today, these are rather idiot proof, but not child proof.

Anyway, selling about 1 a minute at the last, now sold out.... good while it lasted.

That is great.... there is a lot to be said about having a standing pilot light in humid climate areas that even for furnaces, helps to keep the inside parts dry.

I live in the area and had some brutal winter workouts in my garage this year. Trying to asses if this heater is better than the heater I bought.
