How exactly is an 8 core 16 thread 4800H a low-end processor?

Hasn't been many 2060 with a Ryzen 7 and 16gb ram for under $1000 recently probably because they're getting discontinued(or soon to be for 3060 and 5000 CPU's). Nothing looks lacking or needing of additional updates.

The fact that you have to wait for at least a few weeks if not more would be my only hesitation.

I owned an EVOO gaming laptop for almost a year. It was fantastic, my only minor complaint was the mechanical keyboard key depth seemed a little shallow. Temps were great; build quality was great.

The article you linked was for super cheap laptops, the kit they used in my EVOO from a year or two ago was a very good Tongfeng chasis with a 9th gen Intel and a 1660TI.

Ordered this last night at $995, they dropped to $899 tonight. They refused to price match via web chat and said I should just order another one and return the first.

And I did just that.
well ya gotta do what you gotta do, but try giving them a call, they did it without hesitation over the phone. save packaging waste/fossil fuels

This is just my preference.
Specs don't matter much if it's going to throttle and cripple the performance.

I had an order for the Dell Alienware M15 Ryzen 5800H and 3060 for $1,2xx out the door after tax, 12% coupon, and 15% cashback but ultimately cancelled it due reviews of overheating and throttling.

From member's experience, this EVOO most likely will suffer from noise and heat issue as well. An 8 core Ryzen 4800h with a 2060 is a lot of heat to handle. With that said, $899 for these type of specs is a solid deal.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Lenovo 5 Pro, expecting a US release soon. Price isn't going to be anywhere near this good but from all the reviews, it's a solid laptop with amazing cooling, essentially allowing it to operate without throttling. It's one of the few laptop that can handle an 8 core Ryzen and a full power Nvidia RTX without choking on heat throttling.

i'm mining with mine and it has very good cooling/temps. it might be a bit noisy but it doesn't bother me.

this laptop has 1 day ship/next day delivery which was great for me. i needed a new laptop and wanted something nice to get my taxes done with.

Its a amazing. I got an ACER Predator with 1660TI a few black fridays ago for < 1000. And things aren't much changed after all this time. CPU updates typical, but GPU power at the price point almost the same. Weird times.

How easy it to add a sata SSD for additional storage? I've read there is space but no cable inside. 512 gb isn't going to cut it for game storage.

I tried two different times and both times was told nothing could be done since the laptop was in transit. Really silly I had to have another shipped to me and return the first.

The different including sales tax was $102.xx, so it unfortunately was too much to ignore and let slide given I had just ordered it.

How would 1080Ti work for this? Thanks a lot
1080TI right now is going for around $4-6. A couple of days ago it was at $13 a day.

Evoo is the house brand for walmart. I'm concerned about the build quality, lifespan, and warranty claims based on an article I found here: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2...-bad-news/ Can anyone comment?
Yes, quality is not that great. Wal-Mart buys all of these directly from the Chinese manufacturer, so they are able to provide huge discounts. If you get the same config from other OEMs in at most 15% more price, then I would recommend to skip this one, otherwise between $1150Legion 5 and this one, I would choose this.

I've had my EVOO for just over a year and a half. I've already sent it in for warranty repair once and I'm sending it in again for a detached screen. Needless to say, I will never do an EVOO again. Aside from the sticky keys, the fan runs all the time and it has been a lemon from day one

Disagree on this one.

Having owned Alienware, Omens, and Zephyrus laptops, this chassis is great.

It's a tongfang alloy chassis (maingear/eluktronics/gateway) that are pretty highly rated and I agree.

The one downside is that the keyboard is weird. I wish they left off the number pad since there is no enter key. I'd rather have a centered keyboard.

This is basically a version of the gateway creator laptop that was $700 (at its lowest price) but with $100 worth of ssd and ram upgrades (for diy people) and a better processor that also keeps the unit cooler. Killer deal IMO.

Nicehash you are mining hashing power. So it's between multiple coins. I'm currently doing 62mh on the 3070s and mining my i9 earning me another $2 a day
That will be true eventually, but Nicehash has been mining exclusively Ethereum for months.

Ok, which one among ASUS, HP Omen, Alienware does it resemble wrt quality. I didn't knew these are Tongfang, if its so, then out would be similar to XMG, Eluktonics..

If I had to say, maybe the omen. But I'm not sure there is a direct comparison because the size of this chassis.

All the "smaller/slimmer" laptops like the g14/g15 I've had cooling issues with. Even though I own this computer (intel processor tho), I just purchased a 3060 g14 and 4 days later it completely died mid game and wouldn't turn on after it overheated.

My Alienware and omen were much larger, but the omen quality was probably the most comparable. Alienware is bit plastiky. Yeah this laptop gets noisy, but it's a tight package and I can run it all the way up without issues.

In summary I guess it's kinda like the omen build quality in the g15 sizing if that makes sense. But the omen chassis was just a bit better.
