I used to use this stuff until I ran into the dove stuff at the store which is pretty much identical and usually costs half the price if not less

When you have been using a product for a few years, you can kinda just tell. They smelled different and had a different consistency. When I bought one from a local salon/beauty supply place, it had the smell/texture I was used to.

With that said, I did use the stuff and it did work. I just didn't like it as much.

Dove Men+Care Pomades are 1.75 oz and about half or slightly less than half the price of AmCrew. Not that much savings per oz, if any.

Does anyone know of any affordable alternatives? I've tried stuff like Murray's Beeswax, but it leaves a sticky residue that is very hard to wash off and it's very shiny. This American Crew stuff seems expensive even on sale.

I got it on sale for 2 for 4.50 on Amazon the last time I bought it; which is less than half the cost of this. Doesn't go on sale too often though.

Gatsby is $7 a tub if you buy a 3 pack and it's just as good if not better

My hair is a lot thinner now. But I never used that much product. I also only use it when my hair is trimmed to 1". After it gets beyond 3" I go dry until I cut it.

It seems to go further than you think if you apply less to your hand and try spreading it into need zones. Light dampening of hair before applying also helps it apply more evenly across areas.

Use it differently than shampooing your hair.

I'm sure you have excellent hair though. Probably make me jealous.
