15% discount? I like half price closeouts
It is a poor headphone amp for 99.5% of headphones. If most people are buying it for that then most are buying the wrong thing.

It has LOTs of power, like you said, but also LOTS of noise relative to good $100-$150 headphone amps and a high likelihood of channel imbalance. The recent Audioscience Review test
[audiosciencereview.com] shows distortion at .012%, Noise at 78dB below signal, and about .5dB L/R channel difference at 5W (likely higher at headphone volumes).
By comparison the $99 Schiit Heresy has .0007% distortion, Noise 103dB below signal, no channel imbalance...and PLENTY of power for 99.5% of all headphones. Plus, the Heresy has an external gain switch, so you do not have to open the chassis anytime you want to switch between high/low sensitivity headphones.
agreed. Not much of a discount for a discontinued model

I own this AMP... in general I like it and would prefer to keep it but my Zen CAN has better detail and resolution for $150 as well as bass boost... the Bas X a-100 convincingly drives my DT990 while my Zen CAN either needs to be maxed out to get 80-90% volume or used with bass boost as a bass cannon modded build... I am going to probably wait to see if it actually is discontinued and wait for a bit and hopefully sell it at a premium unless they release something better at the same price or something that devalues it I will probably keep it and use it for stereos.... The main reason is the Zen CAN also has balanced which also improves the sound quality over the Bas X A-100 but means if I needed more power I could do a balanced mod or like many of my planars buy balanced cables... maybe for the Sundara but it drives anything else I have... it is very special use I would say it edges for the DT990 600ohm vs the Zen CAN but just barely.... The Zen CAN is the better buy (note I got the last launch edition from Amazon so I have the Ipower for $160 total vs you paying $200 for the Zen CAN + ipower seperate) but this isn't completely useless and if you happen to have less detailed and resolving headphones you won't be able to tell the difference as much on and nice but smaller monitors without a subwoofer this is a good combo in that specific situation especially if like the 600ohm DT990 they need A LOT of power....

It drove my HE-6s to volume perfectly well but it's bright sounding. With a lot of EQ it sounds okay. Also needs a while to warm up, listening to it right away seems more distorted in the midrange.
