I got a Dewalt planer DW734 today for $250 at my local Home Depot. I also got the 10% military discount, so I ended up paying $225 for it.

Steps to verify $250 price
1.Use Brickseek to locate an HD with inventory which lists price as Clearance, with no price listed.

2. If you call the store to verify the price, the automated phone system is not quoting the actual price. In my case, my $250 store's phone system said it's $449, so you'll need to speak with a human if you call the store, but be aware you may be alerting them to the deal and they may keep it for themselves.
3. The better option may be to drive to the store, find the planer and hope it rings up $250.
4. If your HD says $400, check back periodically since I paid $400 about 2 months before seeing that it dropped to $250.

If anyone can weigh in to verify if they are seeing Brickseek reporting it as "clearance" and it turns out to be higher than $250 when they get there, then that might be a way to help everyone understand if it might be worth the drive.
I've checked the price every time i've been at HD since I paid $400 for it, and today it was down to the last one and someone turned it so the price tag was facing the wall---it seemes like maybe someone purposely hid it.
I'm a diy'er that has no business even owning a planer, but i watch carpenters on youtube like it's porn and this was the perfect opportunity for me to dip my toes in the water.
It sounds like serious woodworkers are going to see value in paying extra for the 735.

Reason I ask is that at both Home Depot and Lowes, I've seen it where the price in the app is different than at the register, even when you're in the store and should reasonably expect the app to provide you with the actual price.
Sorry to everyone that's not seeing the discount.... i wonder though if this might be something that could be an indicator that there could be future markdowns in other stores if you keep checking.
