Ultimately as a streaming device there's no incentive for the hardware manufacturers to include this codec because none of the streaming apps even use it. Take out Plex and Kodi, (which arguably also have significantly lower rates of legally streamed content, which the manufacturers care even less to support) and you have little reason to add the lossless audio codec passthrough support.
I exercised my displeasure in this situation and just bought a 2019 Shield TV pro to voice it.

I watch my Spectrum channels via the spectrum app on Roku.

Main hardware differences - RAM is only has 1GB versus 2GB, MicroSD card slot (for more channel/app storage) vs. none on Ultra 2020. Additionally, Dolby capabilities, WiFi and CPU are slightly slower on Roku Ultra LT but I'm not sure you can tell much of a difference in either, especially if your using ethernet cable.

I've been using the Roku Ultra LT since last Thanksgiving and it's been great. Upgraded from older 2012 models. I figure, my next Roku hardware purchase will eventually come built into a smart TV as it's becoming less common to find a non-smart TV.

I have rokus and fires on every tv. I prefer fire devices for ability to install Smart YouTube for no ads and other apps for watching shows.
Rokus pretty much only used for Spectrum since for some reason not available on Fire devices.
