My son just used a 2 person NEMO two person tent for a week backpacking trip and thought it was excellent. At 25% off it would have been even better! Hope someone takes advantage of it. 5 minute set up. https://www.rei.com/product/16945...-footprint

Yea just finding them in stock is near impossible. Makes sense as they don't even have the yakima Carbonite in stock anyways
I actually had to do a warranty return on my Skybox recently (loaned it to a friend and one of the lid clips broke) and the guy I was talking to at Yakima said the wait for new boxes is 3-6 months. They're making them as fast as they can in their CA manufacturing facility but can't get the raw materials from China fast enough to fill orders.
There's been a huge surge in outdoor recreation because of the lockdowns but now that things are starting to open up I hope people go back to their old routines. I'm guessing people will go back to movies and cruises and foreign vacations and the demand will drop but it's hard to say when.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for hiking pants?
I am looking for something that is somewhat flexible, but very resistant to abrasions and snagging.
I hike through lots of bushes / plants / trees that have sharp thorns / burrs that snag on my clothing.
I have been eyeing some hiking shoes, want something light weight but good traction, and ideally not made in China (but doesn't have to be made in the US either). I see a few brands noted in the sale that I was looking at, but many just list "Imported" as country of origin, if anyone has experience with good non-Chinese made hiking shoes, I would appreciate it!
Remember sale doesn't start until May 21st as the OP stated in title and very clearly posted on 1st page, we gonna have to wait 4 more days (May 17th as I post) to checkout the sale prices

I recommend going in store to try some on. The associates there are pretty knowledgeable at least in the one near me.

Good insight, thank you. I've been waiting for a price drop on the Carbonite 16 but perhaps I'll just wait until year end. It's more of a nice to have for me than anything as the hitch cargo carrier I have does the job.
Looking for hiking boots, is 25% off on Salomon a good deal?
Its a good deal if you want a hiking shoe now. If you have more time, you can get a better deal. I bought my salomon x-ultra3 shoe from amazon. Note salomon shoes run narrow so best would be to try out different shoes in store. You might be better of using the 20% coupon on another shoe if that is a better fit.

Yeah, definitely no price drops for the forseeable future. I'd suggest looking into buying used on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Despite the lack of availability to buy new there can sometimes be deals buying these used.
