Our new car trial ends today. Go for the free trial or the $6/mo. For a year but we'd have to give our credit card. Please advise. TIA

One thing you can do, before the trial ends, unhook the Sirius receiver or antenna (if supported in your car, was easy to do in VW, at least in older models) for several months or maybe a year or so. SiriusXM gets activated by sending an activation signal and deactivation works the same way; SiriusXM sends a kill signal. Kill signal is sent more often immediately after the subscription ends but ultimately SiriusXM stops sending it entirely. I used to listed SiriusXM for free for several years, now using other streaming services exclusively.

How did you unhook the antenna?

Depends on the car. In VW the SiriusXM receiver is or at least was under the passenger seat and is very easily accessible: http://dataton.net/vw/misc/xm_mod...emoved.jpg

I can smell their desperation. They fire all the talent last fall to pay for Howard and lost a ton of listeners, including me. I do miss the music but not for $20/month that increases regularly.
Howard is a old d-bag in a wig.

Nope, that loophole was removed almost 10 years ago. You copied that from an old blog post. Haha what an epic failure

have not looked at SXM since probably 2012. I really really really would have thought they'd have enough bandwidth to update this by now.
The bit rate is higher than cd quality. It's idiots like that ruin good things. Ignore the moron

How do they kill the service now? Continuously send the kill signal? Or continuously require a reactivation signal?

Huh? Last i checked its between 70-90 kbps. Cd is 1411 kbps. And mp3 compression if you want to come even remotely close to cd is 192 (prefer 320 kbps...but there are better/more efficient codecs like FLAC).

Copied what? My service was continuously active from 2014-2018 until I changed the car.

Sirius audio quality does suck, but my mind was blown when I heard ads. Forget that. Also, their music selection strains to be everything to everyone. Bob Marley radio is pretty much...just anyone with the last name Marley. Liquid Metal plays everything from "3 Days Grace" to "Cannibal Corpse". I would happily give up 15 of the 20 sports stations to hear then appeal to anyone but the most generic demographics.

Edit: NVM it was my antivirus

Anyone know why those links don't work? I know I used it for my truck a month ago but now the redirects don't work.
