Yes and no. The Series 6 has a faster processor, I believe (so will last longer), but it moreso comes down to whether you want an always on display or not. I prefer that. The additional sensors really aren't that important to most people. The Series 7 sounds like it'll be a big step up, but we just don't know right this moment what it'll include with 100% accuracy. I'm holding out for a blood glucose sensor.

Thanks, my daughters Fitbit versa just died after 2 1/2 years. This seemed like a good price point for a teenager as she doesn't need the extra features in a 6.

Is it worth it to spend the extra to get the series 6?
It depends. Series 6 does come with a slightly faster processor (15-20% faster) and a few additional health monitoring sensors. However, I noticed the battery dies faster on the 6 with the always-on display and the faster processor... I swapped my 6 with the SE and I've been pretty happy with it.

Thanks for the feedback.
We want the ECG and O2 sensors. They are features that we like. So I think we are going with the series 6.

Blood glucose sensor? 😮 it is going to greatly benefit to me if it is accurate enough!

Does anyone know if you can turn off the "always on display"?

I have done that on my series 5 non-cellular and the battery life is 2x of what it is when the screen is on all the time. I can go almost 2 days without changing.

IKR?! If they can pull this off (and be actually accurate enough) that will be a major game changer.

I know the series 6 has face mask unlock. Not sure if the SE does.

Yes, that is an iOS 7.4 feature, which supports back to the Series 3.

Blood glucose sensor will be the ultimate coup if they can pull it off.

The more Apple Watch deals that have followed it, the happier I am I got in on the $250 red 40mm Series 6 deal.

As a type-1 of 15 years, I will eat my hat if Apple just obliterates both the fingerstick and continuous glucose monitoring markets in one fell swoop, with this wishy-washy rumor that came out preceding it. It would also render basically every Android-using diabetic an iPhone convert. There's no way, IMO.

I just chatted with them online asked if they price matched then gave them the cart number. Then they verified it then he said "Please go ahead submit the order and let me know once you submitted it, I'll be able to adjust the price after the order is placed." Then about 4 mins later he was able to provide a partial refund on the original order.

There's too many credible rumors from too many different sources. It's coming. But the big question is will it be accurate enough? My guess is yes based on the high standards that Apple has had for their sensors but I bet it'll be really delayed compared with a CGM or finger sticks. So I bet it couldn't warn you of rapidly falling glucose levels.

Do you use a CGM? I've tried the freestyle libre and the dexcom but insurance keeps jerking me around with covering them then pulling that coverage away.
