Awesome deal. Was waiting for the other stand to go back on sale but this is much nicer for close to the same price.

Holy cow I just bought this but with the cheap stand for $350 a couple weeks ago. I wonder what the best way is to go about swapping for this deal. Unfortunately I already put it all together and tossed the huge boxes.

Edit: scratch that. Just called the local store and they said they'd accept a return without packaging as long as I have receipt. Going for it. Thanks!

Bought the saw back in 2015 for $225. Waited 2 years until some cheap stand was on sale for $50 at Sears (when sears was a thing). I really wish i'd have waited for a wheeled one. Considering the stand alone is $150, i'd say this is a pretty great deal.

Curious if i could return just the saw and keep the stand? It looks like its sold as a bundle but im curious if they'd take back the saw @ 359 or just subtract the $150 from it?

Edit: pinged support and it needs to be returned as a bundle.....bummer.

I forget if they'll let you return separately when it's sold online as a bundle like this. Normally when they do it's proportional to the non-sale prices of the items. In this case that's roughly 70/30 saw/stand ($400 and $170), so if they allow it I'd expect it would be $252 for the saw and $108 for the stand.

Wish it was the 10" saw. Been looking for one. I am a DIYer is this sufficient for me or I should wait for a deal on 10".

I heard from a lot of folks on SD and YouTube that Dewalt is the big daddy of saws.

Any pro tip?

I don't think you can do that as it's a bundle item and is only one line item when you check out.

I'm a beginner woodworker. I think if you're just starting out this saw would be great. It's a great deal with the stand. You could always upgrade to a bigger saw later, and still keep this stand. I have the 10in Dewalt but would consider this deal if I didn't have a table saw.

Someone mentioned in another deal post that the 8-1/4" saws don't work well with Dado blades; is this true? Anyone have experience with this?

If you're a beginner woodworker (like I was a year ago) this is a great starter saw. I had the 10" but the models are very similar. Powerful enough to cut most lumber, good dust collection with a shop vac, and the rack and pinion fence is A++. I built some really nice projects with my 10" model and there's quite a few YouTubers that still use one. This 8" model even has a dust collection port on the blade guard which would be fantastic for sheet goods.

Complaints from the 10" model are that it's very loud and the miter slots are trapezoidal shaped so it's really hard to make sled runners.

Also it won't accept a dado stack but check out Freud's 8" box joint blade set. You can cut 1/4" or 3/8" flat-bottom dados with that. You still have to make multiple passes but only 2 or 3 versus 8-10 with a full kerf blade.

Yeah, this one doesn't take dado blades. That's why I passed on it.

This is really a super deal... I'm guessing this DWE7485 saw model is going to be replace since there have been so many sales. I just bought the combo with standard stand on the last sale for $300 and am so happy with this saw so far (first time I've had a writhing knife and it is really comforting). I ended up selling the stand for $60 as I wanted to make a rolling cart with outfeed.

I would recommend this saw unless you're hell bent on using a dado.

Now we just need lumber prices to come down so we can make more things again!
