In my view Costco is still a better deal for couple of reasons

1. Installation, parts and haul of old appliances included
2. 90 days returns and additional warranty when purchased with Costco Visa card
3. Comparable or almost similar models

Man, appliances sure got expensive. Think I bought my washer dryer set from slickdeals/lowes for $400 a pop ($800 for both) 8 or so years ago, which was a good deal then, but seeing these things go for so much now is surprising. Probably the Tariff and general inflation, but pretty stark increase. But this is definitely a good deal for today regardless though

I don't think it's as straightforward as you make it out to be. Not sure how you are counting the $300 difference, but this is my analysis for my situation.

As far as I can tell Best Buy offers Washer parts+installation for $30 extra, and drys parts+installation for $55 extra. That's $85 in all (Home Depot offers the same for $98). If you need Haul Away, both have it for $25. I do realize that Costco has 2 yr warranty, but the only paid options are 5yr or so, so not sure how much to price that at. Practically most people will just pay the $85 extra for installation and keep it at that.

Also, don't forget that Costco deal assumes you have a membership. I don't have a Costco in my city (Albany, NY). So to get the Costco deal I'll have to pay $60 for membership, vs $85 for installation with Best Buy (I don't need haul away). Now, if I'm not mistaken every $250 purchase at Best Buy nets you $5 worth of points. So $1500 will get you $30 in points. Plus this deal will elevate you to elite membership (yeah, it's just a small perk, but still can come in handy during thanksgiving. Moreover, if I'm not mistaken Best Buy elevates you to elite immediately, and it lasts the following calendar year as well.)

In the end, price wise, both deals seem comparable to me after you factor in membership vs. installation costs. And if you consider the rewards earning at Best Buy, it's practically the same. For the same price, I might as well get the newer 4000 model at Best Buy versus the older 3900 model at Costco.
Costco is a better deal overall. You will also get 2% back using their Visa + another 2% being an exclusive member. If you don't goto costco much or have a membership. This won't be a good deal for you. BTW the extended warranty is around $150 for both washer and dryer together.

Sure. That's why I said it's not as straightforward for everyone. Obviously I realize that Costco is a better deal for many folks. Was just pointing out that for some others like me, Best Buy may make more sense. There is no point in me applying for a Costco card when I don't even have a Costco in my city.

My delivery day is May 29. I wonder if I need to buy water connectors and floor mat in advance? My old washer/dryer don't have steam function and the existing connector might not work. Can someone kindly post link what type of connector and floor mat to buy in advance?

Also, in my area, Costco installs using the cheapest rubber-only hoses. So you'll immediately toss those into the garbage and upgraded to braided SS lines - of which BB and HD use when you get installation.

I am in the same boat. Almost the exact timeframe and from Lowes, so who knows maybe the same units.

I am not looking forward to replacing my units either. I had to buy another set recently (guest house) and picked up a good condition set off Craigslist as I could not justify new prices now.

Does costco sell washer separately? From AD flyer seems they only sell washer and dryer combo.

I just tried adding a washer to the cart. And I very well could do it without issues. So you should be able to just order washer. But the price is not showing up as memorial day promotion price

they do but it's not on sale just so you get the combo

but they have the bigger size washer on sale actually..after the $50 off coupon is the better deal if you want washer only (white is cheaper)

Costco in my area Illinois, Schaumburg will not install gas dryer. Unless I am not interpreting the website message correctly. Please let me know if anyone has any experience where gas dryer will not be installed by Costco.
