A word of precaution: VESA mount is located way above the center of the monitor. It might limit your ability to properly adjust the hight, especially if using a monitor arm.
Bought this monitor over a year ago for $200. Only adjustment is tilting but I really like it. Has stayed on since I got it always on the desktop and no burn in. I usually get some burn in because my monitor is on 24/7 on a static desktop background but not this one.

Am I thinking about this wrong if I'm turning my nose up at a QHD monitor with only 250cd/m?

Interesting VESA mount placement, it's on the top side of the monitor. While the bottom side protrudes more so you'll have to find a way to extend the VESA mount brackets..

Totally depends on your environment. I picked this up from Costco a couple weeks ago. Very pleased with it so far, but I'm not using it in direct sunlight or an extremely bright room. For a large general use monitor, it's the best deal I could find at the time. My only complaint is because I sit relatively close, I wish it were curved. If I'd caught the Monoprice curved monitor on sale, I would have gone that route.

Considering this as it's been regularly around this price at Costco ($210 I think) but unfortunately no stores near me actually have it (Costco or Best Buy) so I can't actually see how it is. I mean sure I can look at numbers, see that the pixel density is actually smaller than my existing 23" 1080p monitor, etc but that's kind of like people knee jerking "Rtings sez bad!!!"

Bought one for my wife a few years back to enable easier grading (she's a teacher), and she promptly requested a second. Fantastic for spreadsheet viewing, decent for gaming.

Got this for around $170 refurb and works great as a second productivity monitor. Great for office work, decent for occasional gaming.

Had this monitor for two years, until one day it just turn off and never turned on again. The only repair location is in Texas. And shipping over there costs about $120 (they don't pay for it). I had to throw it out after my Acer laptop that followed the same pattern after two year. If you decide to buy, get a good protection plan with it. I will never buy Acer again. To me, it has zero reliability (2 out of 2 my Acers are dead).
