My 7-yr-old Spectre 13 Ultrabook's non-replaceable battery is no longer holding a full charge. This one's close to the same price I paid then for a smaller SSD, a quarter the RAM, and a fourth-gen i5 processor (and Windows 8). It's been a joy to use. I think it's time to upgrade. I can wait another couple months for delivery.

As I said, the non-replaceable and obsolete battery's shot; Ubuntu won't fix that.

I grabbed one.

Had a bad experience with one I bought a little more than 2 yrs ago. It worked well while it lasted. A few months ago it would not boot due to system error regarding cooling fan not working. The bottom case is impossible to open. Tried blowing the fan from outside to no avail. Never buying any more HP laptops after spending so much money on one which barely lasted a couple years of light use.

That Laptop has been is not 2-in-1 and posted by me only. SD moderators thought that to be 2-in-1 by mistake, probably looking at the touchscreen.
This is a 360 degree 2-in-1 Laptop with Pen support. Build quality wise, they are pretty much same, will Dell having 16:10 display vs 16:9 here.

Worth noting: it's giving me a shipping date of July 6th, so this may not be an option if you're in a hurry.

i have the laptop, i like it, i have the bigger model.

its Heavy. this is not an ultrabook.

BUT it "feels" more desktop-y than an ultrabook. i dropped it HARD on ceramic tile, on a corner, it dented the corner, but ZERO issues.

it runs hot sometimes, it runs hard, it never lags.

ultrabooks seems to throttle a lot and the battery SUFFERS when running hard.

this one seems to hold its own.

i had a surface before and i loved the form factor.

but even specs wise, i guess theres something about having some modular components, cooling, and BIGGER helps the performance. specs aint everything.

I ordered a custom HP Omen on 4/24. It's been delayed 3 times so far. Now expected to ship on 6/21 unless of course it gets delayed again.
