1. does anyone know if you can cancel if you get delayed?
2. is the IPS panel bright enough for outdoor use? are the other screens better for outdoor use? (but I'm assuming the other ones are worse on battery life?)

I do use the touchscreen all the time though, it makes scrolling easy.
I don't care how great the customer service is; if the product shows a high failure rate, customer service will not make up for your investment being lost once the product is out-of-warranty, and I'm not one to excuse "unintended" obsolescence.
Battery and storage dying over the years is understandable, but screen and motherboard problems—are you serious? I've used a 3rd gen i7-powered Samsung for over 7 years, not ONE MB-related issue. 8th gen i5'd Dell G3—three years, again, 0 issues.
I've used the Spectre with the 1165 processor, and I will tell you it ain't worth the latter-end "Sudden Laptop Death Syndrome". It's built somewhat great, but for something that heavy, it definitely should've came with better thermals, which will absolutely lead to your unit failing quicker than its competitors. For something that expensive, the OS shouldn't be anywhere near as buggy as it is—constant display profile issues on external displays, crackling audio if you try to use your own audio suite, and it definitely lags under load. You can argue that these are very niche circumstances, but I will argue back that these were never issues with similar AND older PCs. I've also tested the Acer Swift 3, and despite its shortcomings, gave 0 performance issues. Same thing with the Razer Book 13 I'm currently using. 0 issues with display, audio, performance, motherboard, whatever.
There's clearly a risk factor involved with buying one of these Spectre units, and it did 0 benefit seeing 0 driver updates roll out for the ~30 days I used it, despite having just been released. If I have any personal experience with buying PCs at massive markdowns, it's that it's usually tied to some critical flaw that will drastically affect it later on.
Someone, please provide an actual counterpoint instead of "but he says he still cares about me!"
