Totally disagree. My kid LOVES playing with the magnetic tiles.

We have a set of Magna-Tiles and Playmags and can easily recommend the Playmags over the Magna-Tiles based on quality, sharpe variety, and price!

Our 3.5 year old loves these. He has been playing with these since he was two. We got the following 100 piece set from Sam's Club for $30 around 2 years ago. It still on sale for the same price with free shipping for plus members. Quality seems good.

The title says they are blocks, but these are tiles. Awesome deal nonetheless.

My toddler loves the actual blocks but hasn't stepped up to tiles yet!

Got them for my daughter when she was 1. Totally not into them and we thought it was a waste. She's 2.5 now and can't stop playing with them. I've bought 2 sets so far.

18 months, loves to tile them on the floor for a "dance floor" and dance around to looby loo. Also loves when I make boxes and he can put stuff in them. Otherwise gets SUPER frustrated building himself
